Since the "Consulate" in Benghazi was expecting an attack, why were they there?

who WAS #1

instead of a mile down the road at our CIA outpost?
Why did we even have two separate locations anyway?

Answer
Good question. Supposedly Stevens and his (small security team) were 'visiting' the consulate. But let's back up..

* Disturbing new information about Benghazi and the Obama administration. Fox News obtained a classified cable sent in August from the U.S. mission in Benghazi to the State Department in Washington. The cable, coming just weeks before the attack, warned the Benghazi consulate could not sustain a coordinated attack.

But that is not all that was in that cable. Fox News chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge, who has read that cable, is here with the latest -- Catherine.

CATHERINE HERRIDGE, FOX NEWS CORRESPONDENT: Well, the status of the cable is that I really believe, having read it, that it is the smoking gun warning here. You've got this emergency meeting in Benghazi less than a month before the attack. At that briefing, the people are told that there are 10 -- 10 -- Islamist militias and al Qaeda groups in Benghazi.
The consulate cannot sustain a coordinated attack and that they need extra help. And this information goes directly to the office of the secretary of state, Hillary Clinton.

And notice, even in this NPR 'account' (really an excuse-fest filled w/ whitehouse talking points).. they inadvertently lay out EXACTLY why the Ambassador and his people should have had a serious security team traveling with them at all times...you know, the Security they ASKED FOR earlier.

Check it out, they were literally thrown to the wolves by this administration.

Who is Ben Ghasi and why is his name always in the news?

White Choc

Answer
Ben Ghasi is not a name of a person, but of a city and its "Benghazi" no Ben Ghasi.
Benghazi is the second largest city in Libya. This city has been in the news because there has been lots of turmoil going on over the past couple of years in this city.
On 15 February 2011, an uprising against the government of Muammar Gaddafi occurred in the city. On 21 February, the city was taken by Gaddafi opponents, who founded the National Transitional Council days later. On 19 March it was the site of the turning point of the Libyan civil war, when the Libyan Army attempted to score a decisive victory against the NTC by attacking Benghazi, but was forced back by locals resistance and intervention from French Air Force authorized by UNSC Resolution 1973 to protect civilians, allowing the rebellion to continue.
On 1 June, explosives were detonated in a car near the Tibesti Hotel, with a rebel spokesman calling the bombing a "cowardly act". It was suspected that an officer was killed, and many people started to shout out anti-Gaddafi chants while the Tibesti was cordoned off.
On 19 May 2012, residents of Benghazi voted in historic local elections; this was the first time such elections have been held in the city since the 1960s, and turnout was high.
On 11 September 2012, four U.S. citizens were killed as a result of a coordinated terrorist attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi.
