What are some of the downside risks of buying Ford stock right now?

Ford was recently at a high of 14.44 but now because of the crisis in Greece is down in the 11 range again. Is there much risk for Ford to go much lower? What are those risks? What would cause Ford to go lower? How could the Greek crisis continue to have a negative impact on Ford?

That's a very good question and I am wondering about this myself. I own several hundred shares of Ford (symbol F---quote http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=f ) and I own several options to purchase Ford stock at $9.00 and $11.00 over the next few years. To say that I am concerned is an understatement.

To review, Ford just posted a $2.1B profit in the 2010t quarter, with sales and earnings growth in all markets including North America, Europe, Asia and South America. Additionally, Ford Credit had a profit of $828M, as opposed to a $36M loss in Q1 2009. The company is solidly profitable but still has certain headwinds and crosscurrents to deal with.

The company has $31.3B in debt, of which $3B was just paid on their revolving line of credit. Ford has sold a lot of bonds, whose value has risen over 100% in the last year. However, their bonds are mostly rated as grade B which is considered "junk" status. Until Ford can reduce it's debt, which it is working on, their bonds will be continued to be rated as "junk."

However, the fortunes at Ford are looking up. They have sold 590,439 cars and trucks YTD in 2010, which is 34% more than the 440,045 sold in 2009. Ford's flagship F-Series truck line has sold 143,985 trucks YTD 2010, making it the highest selling vehicle in the U.S and is up 42.4% from 2009. This bodes well for Ford's profitability as truck sales add $4K for each sale to the company bottom line (source: CNBC.com) and Ford is increasing truck production in the second quarter of this year and plans in building 625,000 cars and trucks in the 2nd quarter of 2010. Ford has also benefitted from public perception that the company did not seek government money for bailouts as did GM and Chrysler, and Ford did not take the easy way out and file bankruptcy to restructure and get rid of it's debt. On the other side of the coin, Ford's $31.3B debt is the biggest issue hanging over the stock share price at the moment. More on that later.

Ford is introducing the new 2011 Ford Fiesta in the U.S. which is a car that is inexpensive but with a lot of features that will compete directly against the Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla (link to USA Today review is below).

Ford also has partnered with Microsoft to include "SYNC"® which, according to Ford's website is: "SYNC is an easy-to-use in-car connectivity system, standard on all 2010 Lincoln models and available on select 2010 Ford and Mercury models. SYNC allows you to operate most popular MP3 players, Bluetooth®-enabled phones and USB drives with simple voice commands."

Now, to answer your question about Ford's stock price, the crisis in Greece has created volatility in the world's financial markets. Ford has a growing presence in Europe, but I don't think that Greece in itself will hurt Ford's stock price. The Greece sovereign debt issue will plague stock markets throughout the world unless a solution is drawn up by the European Finance Ministers as they are meeting in Brussels this weekend (May 7-9, 2010) and hopefully will come up with a solution that will re-structure Greece's debt. If not, the contagion will spread to Portugal and Spain, and may continue across Europe. This will create more volatility in the world's financial markets and we may see more selling on Monday May 10. IF this happens, Ford's share price may be on it's way back down to $10.00.

In summary---Ford is now profitable, but still has $31.3B worth of debt. Ford has a great mix of cars and light trucks, and is second in U.S. auto sales behind GM and ahead of Toyota in the U.S. YTD 2010. There is strong demand for their F-Series trucks, which is Ford's most profitable vehicles. Ford is introducing the subcompact Fiesta as a 2011 model which will be available mid-summer in the U.S. to compete with the smaller cars from Toyota and Honda. Ford has created excitement with it's newer vehicles including those mentioned above and also include the Ford Fusion, the newly redesigned Ford Taurus and the Ford Escape. A newly remodeled Ford Explorer will be introduced as a 2011 model.

Ford has public sentiment behind it because they did not accept government bailout money nor did they file bankruptcy. Ford's quality is now on the rise, and according to some reports, is the best in the industry.

Ford has a lot of momentum going for it and this is not a three, six or 12 month run. I believe that Ford has a 2-3 year horizon for it's share price to peak, and could reach $20.00 by 2012. Will Ford ever reach $50.00 again, like in 1999? Perhaps. Let's get to $20.00 first.

However, there are a lot of headwinds right now including the Greece issue which is causing uncertainty in the financial markets.

Dreamweaver can do SOME of it for you automatically, whether your scripting language is PHP or something else like ColdFusion or ASP. However, if you ever DO need to look under the hood and modify the code, you'll find that it's a horrible, mangled mess.

As to WHICH language, PHP is the most popular, especially with web hosting companies, because it's open-source, and thus 100% free... no need for licensing costs from Microsoft or Adobe or some other company.

On top of that, there are some things that you'll need to do for a dynamic website that Dreamweaver WILL NOT do for you... like setting up a database and creating tables. For that, you'll need to know SQL, or use an administrative tool like phpMyAdmin.

Far better to learn some basic coding and do it the right way from the beginning.

The good news... when it comes to working with code, there are programs out there that are FAR better than Dreamweaver, and some of the best are actually free. Have a look at ActiveState Komodo Edit, and Eclipse with the PHPEclipse add-on.

Even more good news...if you don't start "from scratch" then you really don't have to know any coding at all to have a dynamic website. Again, all the good content management systems are free. Have a look at Drupal, Joomla, or WordPress. These are all PHP programs that you install on your webserver. At that point, you can use a design tool like Dreamweaver or NVU to build or modify a theme to give your site a unique look, and the rest of your site you build by logging in with an admin account.

Personally, down two games already with someone else in the same position as you and half the year gone, I'd strongly urge you to sell with your current roster. My reasonings:

Your RB position is all name and no bite right now, which is a great thing to sell on. People keep claiming that he's a late season bloomer, and are still looking for him to break out. However, he's also an aging RB that hasn't had a career year in awhile, and the RB position has an ugly history of people breaking down fast.

Peterson is stuck with a terrible set of QBs that allow the defenses to key in on him completely, and its clearly keeping his output down. Now, unlike Johnson I think Peterson is still great, he's just not going to get a fair chance to show it. These two RBs are a HUGE hole for your roster that is hard to climb out of if they don't snap out of their low outputs, and while they have the potential to, I just don't see it. However, their trade value is still super high (especially Peterson's)

Good news, you have two huge studs in Gordon and Cameron who have shown the ability to put up huge numbers on a bad Cleveland offense with their own questionable QB status. Bad news, you have to rely on getting a ton of points from two receivers on the same team, a team that has an unproven and questionable QB position. They've been super surprising so far (says the happy browns fan) but for a fantasy position as fragile as yours, this is a hard bet to take. However, they also have HUGE trade value and should net you some nice picks.

Outside of those four players, you have Stafford and Stacy of note. Stafford is nice, but he isn't a savior either (like Manning might be). He might be able to net you something, but most people in the playoff positions probably aren't going to be looking for a QB. Stacy is good too, but again, he's a solid piece, not someone that's going to be able to take over and win a game for you. Unlike Stafford though, he might be able to bring in a decent haul in a trade.

So yeah, based on you already being behind and your necessity to rely on unreliable/unproven/unrealistic production from your biggest stars, I'd just fire sell :(

Is there going to be new season of sword art online in 2013 and when? If there is no official news about this than wath are the chanses for it and is Reki Kawahara sad aniting at all about it?

Unknown, but likely to be yes. It is incredibly popular in Japan, the novel itself was voted as the best light novel of 2012. Not to mention that the material from the novel itself is already existent for Season 2.

I've heard rumors about February 2013, but from my search, there's nothing to back up that claim.... I don't think Kawahara had said anything about it as well...

If it comes out, the main story will mostly be around Gun Gale Online (GGO) Arc. The problem is, the material for GGO is only enough for around 12-13 episodes (volume 5-6). So we are either looking at short second season, or 25 episodes consisting of GGO with either Mother Rosario (ALO, volume 7) and some side stories from SAO and ALO (volume8), or with the beginning of Alicization Arc (ongoing, currently from volume 9-11, but planned to be finished at volume 15).

I have seen Ganguly trying to brazenly attack Dhoni, since he is an ex-cricketer, like some overseas big mouths.
He has come out saying some unkind things about Dhoni, i.e. Dhoni's hand in Sehwag's ouster from the team for the last 2 Tests against Aus.

Why is he trying to politicize an issue, where the batsman himself is to be blamed for failing to grab the opportunities on offer.
Next if Harbhajan is made to sit out of the Mohali Test, since he hasn't done anything of note. Pitch is also supposed to help fast bowlers, would he see Dhoni's hand behind Harbhajan's apt ouster from the playing XI.
Why should any Captain, in the middle of a very important series try to accommodate a passenger, however great he is. What would Ganguly, as a Captain have done in Dhoni's place ?
If you remember he has previously tried to hit out at Dhoni, without success. Is he jealous or what or is he trying to prove any sore points against Dhoni. Pl share your views & any info, as I have come across few things said b/w these two but don't have any evidence.

Edit-- Got to agree with CJ & Adarsh, this is the other side of this argument. Those were the legends of team India, not too long ago & even Tendulkar faced a threat but being beyond Chappell & Dhoni alliance, he has shown his worth since.
Sehwag or any other great player can stick around in the team, if they carry on with their form & runs/wickets. Even Harbhajan faced Dhoni's wrath but Ganguly should notice Sehwag's form, his age & what India is going to face outside. If Sehwag is failing so badly at home, don't see him doing wonders overseas but hoping of his return fast enough, as he is a gem of a batsman but on song only.
I also think that Dhoni's tenure has seen lots of success & he inherited a great team from Ganguly.
Even in work situation, I have seen new bosses break the established teams, which were doing well but were not gelling well with the new team leader, hence established greats/good workers lost out to the new leader, who brought in like minded or towing the line kind of good players.
No wonder Dhoni is now surrounded by Jadeja, RP,Rohit & other youngsters, who would thank Dhoni for their careers later, when they would retire. So can't really fault Dhoni, as long as his wards keep on pulling team India out of trouble, not only at home but away as well, Dhoni's undoing in Eng & Aus, from which he is yet to recover.

Lets face it, a lot of us follow our favorite celebrities on Twitter, Facebook etc. argue with others over why a particular artist is good or not, post in the celebrity section of course, have display pictures of them, read celebrity gossip and basically want to know what celebrities are doing all the time. How do your life be without spending so much time obsessing over celebrities? Personally, I don't know that I could spend a month even without going back and discussing my favorite celebrities.

If I had to rank the issues based on my personal knowledge, I wouldn't say terrorism is as important today as it used to be a few years ago. While it is still an issue for countries like Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and Nigeria, there is less risk of an actual terrorist attacks on Western countries. This is due to the West stepping up efforts to prevent attacks in their own backyards. There are still reports of planned attacks becoming neutralized, so I'd say their efforts are not in vain.

As to your question, I think the big issues that figure in the news as of late, is as follows:

#1 Iran
The US and its allies are quite concerned about Iran acquiring nuclear weapons. They have imposed more sanctions on Iran a few months ago which has the effect of escalating rhetoric from all sides. The threat of another war in oil producing region does not bode well for the world dependent that runs on oil. If it happens, it would be a different story than Iraq, because, for sure, Iran will put up a fight.
#2 Syria
It's starting to look like civil war and at least a humanitarian disaster. But it has become a divisive issue between the West and China-Russia on the other.
#3 Euro Crisis
The crisis is threatening to wreak havoc on the global economy. Worst-case-scenario: a great recession breaks the dream of united Europe.
#4 China
China is flexing its muscle in resource-rich South China Sea. This has sent countries like Vietnam and the Philippines to form strategic alliance with US to protect their national interests. Reports of growing military spending and accusations of economic manipulation and state-sponsored hacking show how the West has become wary of China's rise.

Justin's parents are also very strict and protective over Justin so they wouldn't let him get someone pregnant especially at his young age. Justin is very attractive and has a wonderful personality and I do see him getting married and having children just not at 17 years old. Look at Jesse McCartney, Aaron Carter, The Jonas Brothers, Zac Efron and Justin Timberlake they were all teen sensations but their still not married nor do they have kids and they are in their 20's and 30's. I don't exactly know what is going on or what will happen I am just saying what I know no one really knows what is really true until the day Justin Bieber takes that DNA test.

I agree that celebrity gossip is stupid, I read it but it's just something to do when im on a train journey or bored. It's not that I really care, but a bit of gossip is fun. I think there's such a hype around the royal baby because the royal family is such a prominent part of being British and they are one of the most important and powerful families in the world. I think the tabloids are trying to show that even though they are so powerful and important, they are also down to earth and normal and Kate and William just want to be normal parents. Also the royal baby is very significant to our history and our future, baby George might be king one day.

Justin Bieber is also one of the most famous teenagers in the world and has a large fan base who care about what goes on in his life. I agree that celebrity gossip is stupid and I dont understand how some of it makes the front page in the papers, but what makes celebrities distinct is that the whole world knows their business, that's what being famous is about. Only very few people know and care about my life, but when you're famous people become obsessed with you and millions of people know about your business.

Also people thrive on gossip and it provides people with entertainment and something to talk about. Like I said it's a form of escapism and a form of entertainment. It's much easier to escape your problems when you see celebrities have problems. It's like a TV series in a way, you always want to know what happens next, will Kim and Kanye break up, will they have another baby and call it another stupid name, how will they raise their child? Scandals are always exciting and interesting and a topic for conversation, plus some celebrities are attention seekers and want everyone to know everything about their lives, whilst some celebrities like the quiet life away from the spotlight, occassionally coming out to attend big events.

Reading celebrity gossip makes me feel better as it shows that being famous isn't all glamour and has its downsides; I feel sorry for celebrities and some of them just have pathetic lives which revolve around money and superficiality. It makes me happy to be normal and not famous. Hope this helped :)

Why did I get an F on my Journalism Paper?

I am taking a Journalism class and our final paper was to headline and write a news story about people we knew. We had to change the names to protect the innocent, but we had to write it the way a professionally published article would be posted on a newspaper or Yahoo! news blog.

I found out my best friend and her fiance have a secret - She's pregnant! They are a very popular social couple and I figured I could pretend they were celebrities. I asked them some quick personal details and then explained it was for a class. They loved it. Here is how the quick article I wrote looked- word for word (it had to be brief, eye catching and be how it would be done if it happened for real):

Susie Star and her fiance, Brad Williams, are the north side's hottest couple. Always fresh, always the talk of the town, they really are that cool. But news is now circulating- could it be that Susie Star is pregnant with her first child? The answer? Yes. Yes she is pregnant, and the baby is due 9 months from last week (March 12, 2011).

So that was my brief article but my teacher gave me a big fat F, and stated that I titled my article incorrectly and didn't write the body right. I'm confused- I always read Yahoo! news articles that have headlines like "Is Angelina Jolie getting divorced?" And of course when you click on it, she isn't. But I thought my title was good to draw readers in. But my teacher claims that since my friend IS pregnant, that I should have made that the title. Uh- NO! I think it's better to have said that in the body. What do you think?

If I were a teacher, I would expect a final paper to be longer with well researched content. The point of the article is to learn to tell a story. Yours just said Brad got Susie pregnant.

Happens all the time. Not really news, without a point. I'd have given it a D because of the lack of effort, with an opportunity for a rewrite. How can you expect others to care about your article if you made it seem like you don't care about it?

Where are all the photos of the Libyan People rising up against Qaddafi?

I don't need to remind you that representatives of all the major media news outlets of the world descended on Libya as soon as the protests started, with the intention of covering them.

So,â¦. Surely they must have numerous good photos of large peaceful demonstrations against Gaddafi?

Yes,â¦.no?

For example, take the recent protests taking place all around the middle east. Here are some pictures of the protests in Egypt. You can find scores of these kind of pictures with huge crowds, sometimes clashing with police:

Now then,â¦let us compare the images above, all of whom were easily located with a simple google search,⦠with the images coming from Libya.
In Libya I have yet to find a single picture of protesters clashing with police or being barricaded by police.
If you can then by all means post it.

In the above image, we see a definitive flag of the Libyan monarchy now being used by the rebels. Is this even in Libya?

Well, anyway, , when you see a picture of this flag in a protest, you are looking at anti-gaddafi protests. When you are looking at Gaddafi supporters they will be carrying the green flag. The flag of the Libyan Revolution of 1969.

Do these appear to be people protesting Gaddafi? Would protesters of Gaddafi be carrying a glamorous picture of him celebrating? And the flag of his revolution? The answer is clearly no so why are they using this picture? Shouldn't there be plenty of good pictures from the huge protests against Gaddafi?

Actually if you google Libya rebels in the image search you will see a more accurate depiction of this presumed protest movement in Libya. Just try it.

Either someone actually snuck in to take the picture or it was just added in post production. Either way, it is pure deliberate propaganda!

Well I could see a few who could have been CIA,MI5 and SAS, and possibly some well paid 'rebels'

I also don't understand why the people would 'rise-up' when they ALL where housed with FREE electricity etc.

But hi, if they say he was a er,er Tyrone and a Dictator, then he must have been, like Bush said "Iraq has WMD, SOMEWHERE".
