How can I increase my knowledge of popular culture?
Q. I am so atypical. I don't watch television but am educated and an avid reader of everything (but especially decent literature)! I only listen to R&B music and some Hip Hop. I don't know about all the latest shows or movies and find myself out of touch a lot of the time. How can I increase my understanding of what's cool? What should I see and listen to so I can have conversations with my counterparts? I know these are the most important topics for them? By the way I am female and in my mid 20s.
Answer
I think you've just been too busy with school/work, etc. When you talk to your friends and counterparts, just listen at first, they'll tell you everything. There are new release DVDs at Blockbuster, you can watch the early morning news or evening news, Yahoo has news/entertainment blogs. Hope this was helpful. Wishing you the best! :)

What to wear a Jean Jacket with? 10 points guaranteed.?
Sara
I know it looks good with a girly summer dress/skirt but I was wondering about pants.
Maybe Khaki pants or somehow jeans.
10 points guaranteed for the best answer.
Answer
it depends on your style! You can wear denim with jeans as long as its not the same color. If you have a light color jean jacket then wear it with dark jeans and if you have a dark jean jacket where it with light jeans. Thats the only rule when wearing denim with denim. You can wear it with leggings and a tunic. A lot of celebrities really work the jean jacket look and its great for this spring! Here are some photos maybe you can use for inspiration! :)

Where can I get info on how to recycle veggie oil to use as deisel fuel?
popular news sites in usa image
CAM
Some years ago I bought Mother Earth news which featured a story about a guy who drove a van across the USA, using recycled oils he collected from diners along the way. Does anyone recall when that issue came out; who the guy was; any contact details?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Answer
Just search for "biodiesel recipe". It helps if you get the spelling right. Then you'll find sites like in the links below. Ultimately, each batch must have a recipe adjusted to it through titration of test batches and not all waste vegetable oil are of sufficient quality for home production. With home use, the glycerins are waste products that need to be disposed of ( it's illegal to just pour it down the drain ). It's a good idea to have your vehicle modified to run directly off waste vegetable oil which requires the engine first be started on regular diesel or transesterfied biodiesel and only switched to vegetable oil when both the engine and the vegetable oil are heated to the right temperatures ( the fuel lines and valves also should be heated ), the engine also has to be purged with regular diesel or transesterfied biodiesel before being shut off. However such a modification allows you to avoid processing most of your waste vegetable oil as only a small amount of processed biodiesel would be needed.
The collection of vegetable oil from diners are problematic. The diners are happy to have them removed but they also have signed removal contracts with a waste oil removal service and therefore the waste oil is really the property of the waste oil removal company. The waste oil also has a value to the removal company as they sell it to refineries and to cosmetics manufacturers. It's best to find out when the waste fuel pick ups are and avoid collecting your oil on the same day to avoid a conflict with the collection service. Also, if biodiesel becomes popular, then the waste vegetable oil will suddenly become expensive, not free.
Articles on people making biodiesel happens all the time, it would be impossible to narrow it down to just one issue of Mother Earth news as it's an ongoing topic repeated very often.

More and More I find Fox News reporting things that are not true?
Angel Eyes
My husband has to watch Fox News after the national nightly news. The show is filled with all the bells and whistles and I tolerate it, because I like Shepard Smith. But, while my husband is sleeping I gather most of the news from more valid sites on the internet. And, they often tell a different story than I heard listening to their news that night. So, I'm beginning to think that Fox either doesn't report the news right or chooses not to.
How do others feel about this ?
Answer
Good for you. Keep it up.
You were right to guess that Fox chooses NOT to report the news straight. They are on a mission, and their goal is to sell you a political philosophy, not give you the news. In fact, if somebody on Fox says something, believe the opposite. Shep Smith is OK but the rest are frauds.
The only goal of news should be to inform. Fox's political philosophy appeals to people who find the news on other networks hard to understand. They need simple answers. They like to watch people yell at each other. Fox shows are popular, but, fortunately, really not as popular as you might think. About 3 million to 3.5 million people watch Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck every night, but about 6 million watch the CBS Evening News, 8 million watch ABC's World News, and about 9 to 9.5 million watch the news on NBC with Brian Williams.
The most consistently popular websites for news are CNN at 32 (27 million unique visits) and The New York Times at 50 (17 million).
For April 2010, the numbers changed a little, not much. The most popular News websites were, in order:
1. CNN (approx. 48 million.)
2. MSNBC
3. New York Times
4. Huffington Post
5. Fox News (approx. 23.5 million)
6. Washington Post (22 million)
7. Los Angeles Times
8. Reuters
9. ABC News
10. USA Today
I know this is more information than you asked for, but I hope it helped you.

What did Paul Revere do in the revolutionary war but the horse ride?

I know about the boston tea party, I know about his painting, but can someone tell me something else? Please?
Answer
As a copperplate engraver, Revere began producing political engravings that supported the Patriots' cause. He produced a number of political engravings and cartoons that influenced many colonists in their thinking toward Great Britain. His most famous engraving was one of the Boston Massacre.
After the Boston Tea Party, Revere became a messenger for the Boston Committee of Public Safety, often delivering messages to New York and Philadelphia about the events unfolding in Boston.
Paul Revere served in several military positions but none with great distinction.Paul Revere was one of the ringleaders of the Boston Tea Party on May 10, 1773. After the Tea Party, he was sent by the citizens of Boston to deliver news of the party to the other colonists in New York and Philadelphia. When he returned, he was appointed one of 25 men by the citizens of Boston to stand guard over the ship Dartmouth, one of the tea bearing vessels, in order to prevent the overexcited townspeople from doing further damage to the ship.
Paul Revere organized the Mechanics, a group that grew out of the Boston Sons of Liberty. The group established an intelligence network that monitored the actions of the British army in Boston with regular patrols and then sent news of the movements to patriot leaders. This is the organization that discovered that British troops were planning to march on Lexington and Concord on the evening of April 18, 1775. Paul Revere was sent with the information to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock in Lexington, the occasion of his famous midnight ride.
In December 1774, the patriot intelligence network in Boston learned that the British would likely send reinforcements to Fort William and Mary at Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The British had a large store of ammunition there and they feared the colonists might try to capture it. Paul Revere was sent from Boston to warn the patriots in Portsmouth that reinforcements were on the way. In response, patriots in the vicinity overwhelmed the fort and captured the ammunition. This was the first instance of force used against the British by the colonists. The ammunition was later used by the colonists against the British at the Battle of Bunker Hill.
Paul Revere played a key part in the events leading up to the Battles of Lexington and Concord. On April 18, 1775 Paul Revere rode from Boston to Lexington with William Dawes to warn the patriots the British were coming to capture their leaders and their military supplies. After reaching Lexington, Revere, Dawes and Samuel Prescott rode on to warn those along the way to Concord, but they were stopped by a British patrol. Dawes escaped and turned back toward Lexington. Prescott escaped and went on to Concord. Paul Revere was captured by the patrol and questioned, but was later abandoned as the Battle of Lexington Green began. In addition, Paul Revere had made the journey to Lexington and Concord two days before as well, to warn the patriots that the British would be moving soon. Because of this trip, people across the countryside were already prepared for action when the troops actually moved on the 18th and most of the ammunition had already been removed from Concord.

when the 3 civil rights workers disappeared during freedom summer what did the SNCC claim happened to them?
ED
a. the students were relocated
b. the students were arrested
c. the students were kidnapped
d. the students were murdered
i think A or C?
Answer
The answer is D. I remember this incident very well since I am 65 yrs. old and the newspapers were filled with the news of the time.
On June 21, 1964, three young civil rights workersâa 21-year-old black Mississippian, James Chaney, and two white New Yorkers, Andrew Goodman, 20, and Michael Schwerner, 24âwere murdered near Philadelphia, in Nashoba County, Mississippi. They had been working to register black voters in Mississippi during Freedom Summer and had gone to investigate the burning of a black church. They were arrested by the police on trumped-up charges, imprisoned for several hours, and then released after dark into the hands of the Ku Klux Klan, who beat and murdered them. It was later proven in court that a conspiracy existed between members of Neshoba County's law enforcement and the Ku Klux Klan to kill them.

Why did Conservatives start the rumor that Obama took a trip to India that would cost $200 Million per day?
latest news from india image
The Equali
Remember that from late 2010?
Conservatives claimed that Obama's trip to Mumbai would cost $200 million per day, and that he would also be flanked by an armada of US Navy ships.
Why did Cons make up this lie, and then refused to take credit for it once they were proven wrong?
Answer
Of Course they made up that Lie... Because they want the " Conservative Base" to be upset with the idea that this " Person " is living like the President of the United States.. It was totally false, and started with some News paper in India, someone wrote in the paper as a Joke that he would have a fleet of vessels with him and 1000 personnel. Then Conservatives blamed the Indian newspaper for running with that lie.. Fox News even reported on it and never bothered correcting it. They want to paint Obama as a big spender.
They never had a problem with Bush. Who took over 400 days vacation both terms.. Google Bush vacation time as president.

What are some customs and social etiquette of the late 15th century in Europe?
V
I'm working on a story that's set in the late 15th century (around 1480 or so), and I would like to be as historically accurate as I can. I know a few of the social things in western Europe, but I would like to know as many as possible. Thank you!
Answer
There is no such thing as customs and social etiquette in Europe in that era. Traditions varied VERY severely based on the exact location.
At the time, labour was organized in guilds, which only men could join and only Christian men from the area they were born in. Foreigners had to pay ludicrous fees, and Jews and Women were not allowed to join guilds and so not to have any sort of business for themselves, save for unguilded business (that's how so many Jews ended up in banking and diamond trade). Depending on the area, very early marriages were common, or very late ones (Dutch region, late marriages were basically used as contraception to limit family size). The vast majority of the people worked in farming, towns were relatively small - 10 000 inhabitants for a capital, 1000 inhabitants for most other towns. Every few years, plague epidemics and other epidemics swept the country, and over a third of the children died before age 4. Chance of dying in labour for a woman were one in ten, and an average marriage lasted 15 years after which on average, one of the spouses would die and the remaining spouse usually re-married.
In this era, witch trials were still quite common. Most the people executed this way were not witches of any sort, but political opponents, scientists, as well as just plain people who weren't liked by their fellow villagers (those who were convicted of witchery and executed forfeited their posessions, which were then split amongst those who had reported the "witchcraft" as well as amongst the lord of the land). People were tortured for confessions, burned at the stake, etc. If you stole, your hand was chopped off, and similar. There was no such thing as prison sentences - you were either executed or whipped or corporally punished in some other way. Besides the plague there was also a disease which ate away people's flesh, leaving them without limbs - it's still quite common in India these days - and they were reduced to begging, often living just outside of the town on the gallow fields and the like. Other extremely common diseases were cholera, dysenthery, vitamin C shortage, rachitis, iodine shortage, iron shortage, various inflammatory diseases such as arthritis, tuberculosis, and of course all sorts of diseases we vaccinate against now (look them up). Life expectancy was something like 36 years on average, someone of 50 years of age was considered very very old.
Sexual morale was not as tight as we're led to believe. In public bath houses, women and men alike bathed in the same baths at the same time. Women in villages often fell pregnant without being married, which was very bad news of course, but generally it just happened that way.
Read a lot of Shakespeare and Chaucer if you want to get an idea, btw. :)

What are the odds that Prince William and Kate Middleton will announce their engagement during the next month?
latest news cbs image
Ellie Evan
American news sources are reporting that it's probable because the British media spotted Kate's parents as part of a shooting party at Balmoral last weekend Derschowitz, 2010, November 2, CBS), but what's the latest news from the United Kingdom? This inquiring American wants to know.
Answer
Here is my best guess.
The odds of announcing an engagement by year-end 2010 are 30%.
announcing an engagement from January - April 2011: 20%
Announcing an engagement from April - December 2011: 15%
Announcing an engagement after January 2012: 15%
They will not get married: 20%
This couple simply has a way of disappointing when it comes to announcements about engagements, and I can see Kate deciding to back out. It could happen.
I think they year 2011 at some time is my best guess if they do get married, there is no need to make the Olympics and the Jubilee any bigger, and the British public wants a wedding now.
I disagree with Mrs Minerva, the announcement is surely to come from Clarence House, the official residence of the Prince of Wales. Buckingham Palace will issue an announcement shortly after granting the usage of Westminster Abbey as a wedding venue. I doubt the wedding with be at St. Pauls. since his mother and father were married there. Who wants to be reminded of that?

First recorded virus on any Mac OS?
celebrity gossip 1987 image
Docere Sue
I am having a dispute with a friend, what is the very first virus on any Mac. I mean even the smallest virus counts here. I am trying to tell him Mac's have had types of viruses for a while.
What's the first virus on any Mac computer?
Answer
Mac virus timeline
1982: 15-year-old student Rich Skrenta wrote the Elk Cloner virus, capable of infecting the boot sector of Apple II computers, predating viruses for IBM PCs by some years.
1987: The nVIR virus began to infect Macs, spreading mainly by floppy disk. Source code was later made available, causing a rash of variants.
1988: HyperCard viruses emerged that could run on versions of Apple's Mac OS 9. One version showed the message "Dukakis for President" before self-destructing.
1990: The MDEF virus (aka Garfield) emerged, infecting application and system files on the Mac.
1995: Microsoft accidentally shipped the first ever Word macro virus, Concept, on CD ROM. It infected both Macs and PCs. Thousands of macro viruses followed, many affecting Microsoft Office for Mac.
1996: Laroux, the first Excel virus, was released. Mac users were unaffected until the release of Excel 98 meant Macs could become infected.
1998: Sevendust, also known as 666, infected applications on Apple Mac computers.
2004: The Renepo script worm attempted to disable Mac OS X security, downloaded hacking tools to affected computers, and gave criminals admin rights to the Apple Macintosh. Hackers also wrote a proof-of-concept program called Amphimix which demonstrated how executable code could be disguised as an MP3 music file on an Apple Mac.
2006: Leap-A, the first ever virus for Mac OS X was discovered. Leap-A can spread via iChat. The Inqtana worm and proof-of-concept virus soon followed.
2007: Sophos discovered an OpenOffice multi-platform macro worm capable of running on Windows, Linux and Mac computers. The BadBunny worm dropped Ruby script viruses on Mac OS X systems, and displayed an indecent JPEG image of a man wearing a rabbit costume. Sophos reported the first financial malware for Mac. The gang developed both Windows and Mac versions of their malware.
2008: Cybercriminals targeted Mac and PC users in equal measure, by planting poisoned adverts on TV-related websites. If accessed via an Apple Mac, surfers would be attacked by a piece of Macintosh scareware called MacSweeper. In June, the OSX/Hovdy-A Trojan horse was discovered that could steal passwords from Mac OS X users, open the firewall to give access to hackers, and disable security settings. Troj/RKOSX-A was discovered - a Mac OS X tool to assist hackers create backdoor Trojans, which can give them access and control over your Apple Mac computer. In November, Sophos warned of the Jahlav Trojan, and Apple issued a support advisory urging customers to run anti-virus software.
2009: In January 2009, hackers began to distribute the OSX/iWorkS-A Trojan horse via BitTorrent inside pirated versions of Apple's iWork '09 software suite. In the same month, a new variant of the Trojan was distributed in a pirated version of Adobe Photoshop CS4. In March, Sophos reported on how hackers were planting versions of the RSPlug Trojan horse on websites, posing as amn HDTV program called MacCinema. View a video of this attack here. In June, SophosLabs discovered a new version of the Tored email worm for Mac OS X, and hackers planted a version of the Jahlav Mac Trojan horse on a website posing as a portal for hardcore porn videos. Shortly afterwards, the Twitter account of celebrity blogger Guy Kawasaki had a malicious link posted onto it, claiming to point to a sex video of Gossip Girl actress Leighton Meester. In reality, however, the link lead unsuspecting users to malware which could infect Mac users.

Whatever happened to Cyndi Lauper, Toto and the Thompson Twins ...?
Q. I was such a huge fan of her's in the 80's! What ever happened to her? And the Thompson Twins? And Toto?
Answer
Cyndi Lauper
2005-Present: The Body Acoustic & current projects
Lauper's album The Body Acoustic, released in 2005, featured acoustic reinterpretations of tracks from her back catalog as well as two new songs (Above the Clouds) which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best female vocals Performance. It featured guest appearances by Shaggy, Ani DiFranco, Adam Lazzara, Jeff Beck, Puffy AmiYumi and Sarah McLachlan. Since the album's release, Cyndi Lauper's star has been on the rise, especially in Canada. She continues to tour the world performing live and is noted as an energetic live performer. Despite not having released a proper follow-up to 1997's Sisters of Avalon, she has maintained a devoted dedicated fanbase and lives in New York with her husband and their son. As of 1998, Lauper also had a home in Stamford, Connecticut.[1] In 2005, Lauper also appeared on Nellie McKay's sophomore album on the track "Bee Charmer."
Also in 2005, she appeared on Showtime's hit show, Queer As Folk in a scene performing a new remix of Shine.
In 2006 she made her Broadway debut in a revival of The Threepenny Opera.
In the second quarter of 2006, Lauper directed a television commercial for the Totally 80's edition of the board game Trivial Pursuit. The commercial features her old WWF "rival" Rowdy Roddy Piper along with 80's celebrities Tiffany, Downtown Julie Brown, Corey Feldman, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and others.[2]
On October 16, 2006, Cyndi Lauper was inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame.[3]
Lauper plans to record an album of all-new original material which she says will be released sometime summer 2007. She describes it as a mainly dance album with good rhythm.[4] With her latest tour, Lauper has been giving fans a sneak peek at the album by singing some of the new songs at concerts. The songs so far are "Still With Me" and "The Other Side of Here." Lauper started work on the album in November, 2006. The album title has been revealed as Savoir Faire.
Lauper was the headline act at the New Year 2007 celebrations at Universal Studios Orlando. Recently seen during the week of January 21, 2007 at the Bamboo Garden in Elmsford, New York. On January 31, 2007, she appeared on The Howard Stern Show and was complimented on her physique.
The pop girl group Girl Authority remade her classic "Shine" to be featured on their sophomore album, Road Trip.
Lauper is headlining the True Colors Tour 2007 for Human Rights through the United States in June 2007, with Deborah Harry, Erasure, Dresden Dolls and Gossip, with Margaret Cho as MC. The tour, sponsored by Logo, the MTV Networks channel targeting gay audiences, will provide information to fans who attend, as well as purple wristbands with the slogan "Erase Hate" from the Matthew Shepard foundation, named for a gay youth killed in a hate crime. A dollar from every ticket sold will be earmarked for the Human Rights Campaign, which advocates equal rights for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people
Toto
Falling In Between
In early 2006, Toto released Falling In Between, their first album of new material since 1999. With very positive reviews from critics and fans alike, Toto release the successful single, "Bottom of Your Soul", which hit #1 on many single charts in Europe. Since the record's release, Toto has embarked on an extensive world-wide tour. They have recently begun the second leg of the Falling In Between Tour, with Leland Sklar filling in temporarily for Mike Porcaro on bass. A DVD was recorded in late March 2007 and is planned to be released around Sep/Oct.
Thompson Twins
The final years
Thompson Twins, 1987
Leeway left the band in 1986, after a reported disagreement with manager Hade, and the remaining duo carried on making music for another seven years, occasionally puncturing the singles charts and twice making the U.S. Top Forty. 1987 saw the release of Close To the Bone and the single "Get That Love" which made it to number thirty-one in the U.S.. 1989 saw the release of another album, Big Trash, and a new record deal with Warner Bros. Records. The single "Sugar Daddy" peaked at number twenty-eight in the USA and would be their last brush with mainstream chart success. 1991's Queer would be the band's swansong, and was supported by various techno-induced singles under the moniker of Feedback Max (in the UK) to disguise club DJs of the source of the records. The single "Come Inside" reached number seven in the U.S. Dance Chart and number one in the UK Dance Chart. However, once it was discovered that the Thompson Twins were behind the record, sales dropped and the album never had a UK release.
In 1988, Bailey and Currie had their first child together, and in the following years they spent a lot of time writing material for other artists including the hit single "I Want That Man" for Debbie Harry. In 1991, Bailey and Currie got married in Las Vegas and the following year moved to New Zealand with their two children. In 1992, the Thompson Twins contributed the song "Play With Me" to the soundtrack of the Ralph Bakshi film Cool World; Tom Bailey alone contributed a second track, "Industry and Seduction". The following year, the group finally formally disbanded, and Bailey and Currie teamed up with engineer Keith Fernley to form a new group called Babble. The Thompson Twins have declined to follow the examples of many of their contemporaries and reform to tie-in with a nostalgic rebirth of the 1980s.

How Do I Sell Celebrity Exclusive Photos?
celebrity gossip black image
Pikalunna
Ok, so believe it or not, I have photos of a certain celebrity on chatroulette, jerking off and asking me to show him my boobs.
How would I sell these to Perez Hilton or any other gossip magazine?
Answer
It's fake. Plus the resolution is so low that it could be tampered with. Unless you have the actual full resolution video directly from his webcam, no one wants it. Also, unless you have a signed contract from the person in video, be prepared to be sued for everything you make and then be in negative due to court costs.
Offering to sell them to the person in the video may be looked as Black Mail as these are obviously video of stuff you do not want posted on 6oclock news.

What would life/society be like if there were no celebrity gossip sites, blogs, magazines and tv shows?
celebrity gossip blog sites image
WTH
I'm tired of hearing it, seeing it, and people talking about it. A handful of these celebritites don't even deserve the right to be a "celebrity" pop culture is killing society sigh
Answer
Oh life would be golden... Less stuck up brats trying to model after Paris Hilton or whatever walking waste of oxygen with 10 credit cards and their daddies inheritance that's popular these days...
I swear if another social network site pops up I might have to start bombing the servers of those bloody things... They will probably cause another recession or whatever if everyone keeps updating their status instead of working.
But there are still good magazines and TV shows, but as a guy I only read shooting/hunting mags and watch documentaries, history shows, action shows and car shows...

Answer
The trouble is that celebrity news is not 'new' - it's already out there on other websites, so it's going to be very hard for you to get anywhere in search engines. The main traffic for most blogs is from Google, Bing, Yahoo, and so on, but the only way to get into the top pages for those is to write tightly focused original posts, on a topic that isn't done to death already.
You can try visiting other, similar blogs and leaving comments (real ones, not spam!) - which may then encourage other bloggers to visit yours. You could offer to exchange links, if you like, and that might increase traffic.
Of course if your posts are good enough, other bloggers and site owners will want to link to them, and that will raise your search engine visibility.
As for Facebook pages, you could try that - it doesn't cost anything to make a page for your blog; alternatively you could simply post links to each new post on your personal page, so that all your FB friends would see it, and some would visit. If they particularly like a post they might then re-share with their friends.

Although things seemed great and shiny on the outside, there were some underlying problems and issues in 1940s?
CJ
I am looking for some things to research on this matter any help would be greatly appreciated!
I am looking for anything from the 1940s to the 1950s
Ok so WWII is a given what about underling issues on the homefront

Other than WW2...
Women who experienced the freedom of having jobs provided by the war had to give them up when the men returned home.
Cold War (began in 1946)
Japanese internment camps in the US; a great deal of anti-Japanese sentiment
1950s: the Red Scare (fear of communism); this is what primarily led to both the Korean War and the Vietnam War. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Scare
Korean War (1950-53)
Vietnam War (began in 1959.) Major protests would eventually come about because of the war; it was very controversial.
Issues between the US and Latin America: In the 1950s Latin America was the center of covert and overt conflict between the Soviet Union and the United States. Their varying collusion with national, populist, and elitist interests destabilized the region. The United States CIA orchestrated the overthrow of the Guatemalan government in 1954. In 1958 the military dictatorship of Venezuela was overthrown. This continued a pattern of regional revolution and warfare making extensive use of ground forces.
Issues with Fidel Castro: In 1959 Fidel Castro overthrew the regime of Fulgencio Batista in Cuba, establishing a communist government in the country. Although Castro initially sought aid from the US, he was rebuffed and later turned to the Soviet Union.
The U.S uses Federal prisons, mental institutions and pharmilogical testing volunteers to test drugs like LSD and chlorpromazine. Also started experimenting with the transorbital lobotomy.
Forced sterilization, especially of African Americans (see http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/they-cut-me-like-a-hog-victims-of-north-carolina-eugenic-sterilizations-spe/)
Civil Rights movement (began in 1955.) Obviously a lot of racism and violence (especially by the KKK) directed against minorities.

How can liberal news stations be rated so low unless cons have no intellectual curiosity?
Liberal La
Cons claim that Fox is rated so highly because Liberals watch it. Why don't cons watch MSNBC? Do they only want to hear what they want to hear? Can they not tolerate an opposing point of view? Fox News only has 2 liberals and they complain about them all the time.
Answer
Over 90% of news media is liberal, as you know, while almost 99% of the entertainment industry is further to the left than Joseph Stalin, late night talk shows and SNL are in partnership with the democratic party (and the communist party too).
We get your liberal viewpoint 24/7/365 everywhere, all the time. When I listen to Howard Stern show, they are predominantly liberal, repeating the propaganda they read in the NY Times as if its an objective, non-biased news source.
Fox allows more than one viewpoint, that's the difference between all your news groups and Fox. BTW, Fox has a lot more than 2 liberals- Juan Williams, Geraldo, Alan Colmes, Greta Van Susteren
while your ideology rarely allows a conservative viewpoint unless its a set-up or a gang-up.
Liberals had nearly 100% control of the news media prior to Fox, from Walter Commie Cronkite to the time Rush and Fox emerged, liberals controlled the news media, would not allow any viewpoint but the "far left" view; liberals enjoyed this massive advantage for so long, its become an entitlement, that's why liberals are outraged that Fox, Rush, Coulter, Hannity, Savage and other conservatives are on the air, liberals really believe only their viewpoint should be allowed to be in the news.

i really want to see justin bieber does anyone know when hes coming im his number 1 fann!!!!! ilove him and how much are 1st row tickets?
Answer
Justin Bieber doesn't plan on touring in America, Canada, Europe and in the United Kingdom until he is done with his 2 new upcoming albums. He has 2 albums coming out very soon "Believe" is coming out on November 15, 2011 and his Christmas album 'Under The Mistletoe' and will be released in stores on November 1, 2011. His U.S tour will be starting on December 4, 2011 after he is done touring in America he will be touring in Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, Australia etc. He most likely will be touring with his Christmas 'Under The Mistletoe' album and his 'Believe' album once that they get released I'm sure he will sing a few songs from his 'My World' and 'My World 2.0' albums until his 2 new albums come out. You will find out on Twitter when the U.S., Canada, Europe and the U.K. tour dates will be released by Justin Bieber tweeting about it (he always tweets about something when something of his gets released). I'm sure he will be doing interviews, radio interviews, C.D. signings (he always does C.D signings whenever he makes a new album) and maybe book signings too. Me and a few other Beliebers has been trying for about a year and a few months for him to come to my town and one Belieber that was helping knew someone that worked for 96.5 radio station and they helped us also they got a hold of Wilson Warren (a guy that schedules Justin Bieber's schedule) and so he told 96.5 Kiss FM that he was working on a book signing schedule. So he might come to your town for a book signing or anything but keep your eye open cause he could show up whenever. If you have a Twitter that is great because then you would know what is on his book signing schedule the latest news about Justin Bieber are on Twitter way before it is on the most popular celebrity news show E! News that tends to give out news of each and every celebrity and everything they say is true so if you don't have a Twitter I would recommend you to have one. It all depends on where the arena is and how big it is. I have had friends that were like Block C so she was behind A and her tickets were $100.00 each. My tickets were $46.00 each and I was sitting 8th row on the left side of the stage (amazing view). So it also depends on where you would like to sit. I haven't been to a Justin Bieber concert since November of 2010 so since Justin is getting more and more popular everyday it could be more expensive next year for his "Believe" tour which will be starting on Decemer 4, 2011 in America. 1-15 rows could cost to about $400-$600 each for 1-29 rows that is $300-$400. I would say that getting a V.I.P package would be a lot cheaper because you get very close seats 1-15 rows, free parking, sound check, merchandise, sound check after party and since it is a package it will come with like 2-5 tickets and it would cost $1,000 all together. This could be all completely different when he goes on his 'Believe' tour he could have more things to do or less things to do or it might be the same. If you get the tickets on www.eBay.com, the arena, or www.bieberfever.com they would be very cheap. That is what mostly everyone does while going to a Justin Bieber concert. I got mine at the arena and they were very kind giving me the best tickets available and they showed me where I would sit. By the way, if you plan on going to a Justin Bieber concert get your tickets very early VERY! They get sold out so fast you would not believe. So you could call the arena asking for what you want and they will hold it for you I am sure. The websites I listed above are great websites they are not spams or anything. Justin Bieber owns www.bieberfever.com and that is a fan website but you have to become a member you have to pay $8.99 but it is so worth it! Cause there are competitions on how to meet Justin Bieber see how much fans met Justin just by going on www.bieberfever.com at www.mybieberexperience.tumblr.com/ and www.eBay.com is real too Justin Bieber does not own that lol and I am pretty sure you know what eBay is lol. Its just people that got or found Bieber tickets and they don't want them anymore so all you would have to do is try and bid them and then you would meet up with that person and get them many fans have done that before also. But good luck! Get the money out at the beginning of November cause the tour starts/tickets will be on sale around December 4th :)

What is the 50 shades of gray/grey book about?
The girl w
I'm wondering because everyone is talking about it.
Answer
Fifty Shades of Grey is a 2011 erotic novel by British author E. L. James. Set largely in Seattle, it is the first instalment in a trilogy that traces the deepening relationship between a college graduate, Anastasia Steele, and a young business magnate, Christian Grey. It is notable for its explicitly erotic scenes featuring elements of sexual practices involving bondage, discipline, sadism, and masochism (BDSM).
The second and third volumes are titled Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, respectively. Fifty Shades of Grey has topped best-seller lists in the United Kingdom, United States, and around the world.[1][2] The series has sold around 20 million copies worldwide, with book rights having been sold in 37 countries,[3][4] and set the record as the fastest-selling paperback of all time, surpassing the Harry Potter series.[5] Critical reception of the novel has been mixed.
Anastasia Steele (Ana) is a young college student who is drafted by her best friend Katherine Kavanagh to interview the successful young entrepreneur Christian Grey for their student newspaper. Ana finds him attractive, confident, commanding, and intimidating. She leaves the interview convinced it went badly; she tries to forget about Grey until he turns up at the hardware store where she works part-time. After Grey leaves the hardware store, Ana realises that she likes him. Grey tries to warn her that he is not a "heart and flowers" kind of guy, but this makes Ana want him more and want to uncover his secret. Grey also admits he wants her for her beauty, wit, and independent spirit, but on his own terms. Ana is shocked to learn Grey's singular erotic taste. Grey proposes a BDSM relationship, which Ana knows nothing about. When the couple embarks on a passionate, physical and daring affair, Ana learns more about her own dark desires, as well as the Christian Grey secrets. [6]
The Fifty Shades trilogy was developed from a Twilight fan fiction originally titled Master of the Universe and published episodically on fan-fiction websites under the pen name "Snowqueens Icedragon". The piece featured characters named after Stephenie Meyer's characters in Twilight, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. After comments concerning the sexual nature of the material, James removed the story from the fan-fiction websites and published it on her own website, FiftyShades.com. Later she rewrote Master of the Universe as an original piece, with the principal characters renamed Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele and removed it from her website prior to publication.[7] Meyer commented on the series, saying "that's really not my genre, not my thing ... Good on herâshe's doing well. That's great!"[8]
This reworked and extended version of Master of the Universe was split into three parts. The first, titled Fifty Shades of Grey, was released as an e-book and a print-on-demand paperback in May 2011 by The Writers' Coffee Shop, a virtual publisher based in Australia. The second volume, Fifty Shades Darker, was released in September 2011; and, the third, Fifty Shades Freed, followed in January 2012. The Writers' Coffee Shop had a restricted marketing budget and relied largely on book blogs for early publicity, but sales of the novel were boosted by word-of-mouth recommendation.
The book's erotic nature and perceived demographic of its fanbase as being composed largely of married women over thirty led to the books being dubbed "Mommy Porn" by some news agencies.[9][10] The book has also been reportedly popular among teenage girls and college women.[10][11]
By the release of the final volume in January 2012, news networks in the United States had begun to report on the Fifty Shades trilogy as an example of viral marketing and of the rise in popularity of female erotica, attributing its success to the discreet nature of e-reading devices.[12][13] Due to the heightened interest in the series, the license to the Fifty Shades trilogy was picked up by Vintage Books for re-release in a new and revised edition in April 2012.

How do the police investigate past purchases?
Blonde
There was a popular news story about a guy who killed his pregnant wife, it was a few years ago. The police were able to track specifically where he bought the rope that he used on his wife and im wondering how they managed to do that.
Its not like the rope has a vin number or any other identification. Knowing what I know of business, a company might produce a unique brand of rope which would be identical to all the ropes they sell. But to track an individual package of rope from the thousands they produce?
How do they do this? How could detection be avoided?
Answer
The police find the actual receipt or credit card receipt. They go to the store and try to determine what was purchased. Employees of the store might remember what was purchased or not. The UPC code in the store's computer system will tell the police what item that is on the receipt.
With your rope example, the police caught a good break and knew what to do with it.
Now if you intend to use a rope to murder someone, then you might want to shop lift it. You could steal it from a neighbor's garage. You might even find it laying on the road. You could buy it for cash at a swap meet. But you do risk having witnesses see you buy the rope.
The police find the actual receipt or credit card receipt. They go to the store and try to determine what was purchased. Employees of the store might remember what was purchased or not. The UPC code in the store's computer system will tell the police what item that is on the receipt.

Is it normal to daydream and procrastinate while writing a research paper?
celebrity gossip articles image
David
I'm doin a research paper but it seems I'm going a lot slower than i should. It seems every hour I work on this, its 45 minutes of me looking up useless stuff like celebrity gossip and news websites, and 15 minutes of actual reading research and typing. Do college students normally experience this?
Answer
You are not spending enough time on topic. Using more books and journal articles and less online material is one way to solve the distraction problem.

Does this sound like a good idea for a magazine? Could I accomplish this?
<3 :)
I want to create a magazine for teen girls that uses real, non-photoshoped models of all shapes and sizes to help reduce self-image problems in teens. It would also contain articles that talk about important issues (the environment, teenage depression, the dangers of tanning, etc) so people will start realizing the issues that are important (instead of celebrity gossip, and skinny models).
Would this catch on? How could I achieve this?
I need some help, I don't know where to start.
Answer
That sounds almost exactly like Seventeen, except with a lot of superficial stuff scrubbed out. It sounds like the bones of Seventeen without the flesh. and that other girl is right, every issue, Discovery Girl goes to a different state and picks a bunch of REAL beautiful tween/teen girls and puts them in the mag. It's cool. I would read it if you had some really good fashion pages in it to soften those hard-hitting articles and some Justin Bieber pictures every once in a while :).
Get some people together and work it out I can't wait for it!
Oh, and skip on the embarrassing moments, boy advice, and horoscopes. Teen Vogue is a much beter magazine than Seventeen because it eliminates the boy whining and "OMG Moments". Although it soes have a lot of skinny models in it's pages, they're real girls too and none are painfully skinny, and they do have articles about teen weight, depression, underage drinking, and things like that.
flip through some of your competiton, find what you have and they don't and do your research. I don't know what point you're at in the process, but try to find the biographys of the editors of other mags. how did THEY do it?
Then go for it!
So you have a winning Idea, you just need something to make you unique.

Question 20:
Alexis left a location at 8 a.m. The channel three news sent a helicopter from the same location eight hours later to catch up with Alexis. The helicopter's average rate of speed is one hundred fifty mph. If Alexis traveled at 53 mph, how far did she drive?
Enter a decimal rounded to the hundredths place.
miles
Answer
18.
The distances are equal, so x = vt is the same
303t = (t+35.42)*50
6.06t = t + 35.42
t = 35.42/5.06
t = 7.00, therefore
x = 7 * 303 = 2121 and
x = (7+35.42)*50 = 2121 (check)
This is the correct distance between Portland, ME and El Paso, TX.
19.
P(1.04)^4 = 1104
P = 1104/1.17
P = 943.70
20.
Again, the distances are equal, so x = vt is the same
150t = (t+8)*53
2.83t = t + 8
t = 8/1.83
t = 4.37, therefore
x = 4.37 * 150 = 655.74 and
x = (4.37+8)*53 = 655.61 (check)

Answer
11) if it has a perimeter of 22m and one side is 6m the mult. 6mX2 (both side of room) then subtract that # from 22 = 10. then divide 10 by 2. it width is 5m. 5m+5m+6m+6m=22m
12) 350mi/7hr= 50mph
13) 1435mi/5hr= 287mph
14) if F = (9/5)(C) + 32 than F/(9/5)-32=C
C= 59/(9/5)-32
C= 5(59*-32*)/9
C=15*
15) if the walker goes 6mph then after 2 hrs he has gone 12miles. the jogger is 8miles ahead after 2 miles so you know he has gone 20miles total (12mi+8mi) in the 2 hrs. therefore the jogger is moving 10mph
16) she invests 1000 in the bond. 1000x.05= 50
17) she invests 1500 in the stock. 1500x.03=45
im too lazy to do the rest but i hope this helps........ if your really stuck on them let me know and i can help you. i just dont feel like typing anymore. good luck
