What seems massive to us is not that massive to Nature. Even lately with China and India pumping up CO2 emissions, Man's contribution to the total CO2 increase is just a fraction of what Nature puts there.
Take the last 50 to 100 years. The CO2 levels have increased. By how much you ask? aprox. 1 ppm per year. ppm stands for parts per million. That is tiny. Whatever man could do to decrease CO2 emissions or capture carbon out of the atmosphere is dwarfed by one volcano like the one in Iceland right now. And even with a dozen or so big volcanoes spewing Billions of tons of Carbon into the atmosphere over the last Century the rise was only an average of 1 ppm per year.
