Will and when will Nvidia launch a new GPU series?

Kristian

Since the new Radeon cards have just launched, when do nvidia launching a new series? I want to buy a GTX 590, but I'm afraid that if I buy one now, then there will be newer ones on the market some months later.

Please don't leave any rude answers!
Thanks! =)

Answer
Yes, Nvidia's series 6xx cards are expected within a couple of months. However, Nvidia intends to do a bottom-to-top release with this series... so the initial cards will be entry-level models, with higher-end cards coming later in the year. Their replacement for the GTX 590 might not be arrive until Q1 of 2013.

On the SAT test I scored 2010: math, 640, reading, 680, and writing 690 (79/80 with a 4 essay).?

two questions: is this a formidable score, and do colleges see the breakdown of the Writing section as 79/80 and essay 4, or just as the 690?

Answer
Colleges will just look at the 690 total for your writing. They don't care about the essay score because they know that you only had 25 minutes to write it. If anything, they may use the scanned version on your collegeboard account to compare with your personal statement to verify that you actually wrote your own personal statement. But that's it.

2010 is very strong in general, but on the lower end of applicants to the elite universities such as Princeton, Stanford, Harvard, or even UC Berkeley and UCLA.

Several of my students scored between 2200 and 2360, and most of them didn't get in to the top colleges.... It's pretty tough.

Get the latest US News & World Report college rankings magazine to check how your SAT score stacks up against everyone else who got in to your favorite schools last year.

Assuming your GPA is near or above 4.0, I suggest you really diversify your application so that you have many extra- curricular activities and leadership experiences. Then write a stellar personal statement!
