Two top Republican senators are calling for a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing on the Boston Marathon bombings last week, as lawmakers question whether enough was done to prevent the attack.
Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Kelly Ayotte, R-NH, requested the hearing Wednesday, saying "it has become increasingly apparent that more questions need to be answered regarding the failure to prevent this tragedy."
The senators cite a report by Fox News and others that Russian officials contacted the U.S. government at least twice in 2011 with concerns about Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the Chechen who two years later would carry out last week's deadly bombing of the Boston Marathon, as an example of an instance that merits further investigation.
"In a string of apparent intelligence-sharing lapses, Tamerlan Tsarnaev was able to slip through the cracks and carry out this devastating attack," the senators said.
Sources say the Russians contacted the FBI once in March 2011, and several months later they contacted the CIA about Tsarnaev. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/04/24/russian-officials-contacted-us-twice-in-2011-about-tamerlan-tsarnaev-sources/

Answer
Obama refuses to believe that any muslim could be a terrorist. or he is so worried about being politically correct that he is willing to get Americans killed to avoid hurting some muslims feelings.

Please note that the libs cannot defend Obama so they bring up Bush and 9/11.

Edit: Like the user right above me. Guees he forgot that the bill to expand background checks AND the bill to ban assault weapons both died in the Senate. Thus..............Freedom won and his side lost. Whoo Hoo!

How is my writing???????????

anp_15

This is a current event I'm writing for class. I'm in 9th grade. What do you think of it??? It's supposed to just be a short news story. I want to make sure I did this event justice, but i still need to write it like it would be in a newspaper.

On April 15th, two explosions near the finish line of the Boston Marathon killed three people and wounded dozens, 134 to be exact. Shattered glass was everywhere, blood splattered the concrete, and people's lost limbs were scattered all over. The blasts were about 10 seconds apart and 100 yards from each other. Many spectators of the race were knocked over, some runners included. Medics were called onto the scene immediately. No end to the masses of wounded people. One spectator said, "They just kept filling up with more and more casualties. Most everybody was conscious." And runner Tim Davey and his wife tried to shield their children's eyes from the gruesome scene. Although, "they still saw a lot" he said.

The FBI received no intelligence of the explosion beforehand. It was completely unprecedented. Investigation after the bombing revealed, through a surveillance tape, suspect number 2, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. His brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, a follower of radical Islam, was believed to be in on the plot as well. The following day, the two suspects carjacked a man and then released him, resulting in open fire with the police. The eldest brother, Tamerlan, died. One down, one to go. But with suspect number 1 still on the loose, police ordered a lockdown on all the suburbs he was believed to be in. No one was allowed out of their homes. Later, a resident in Watertown, a suburb of Boston, found Dzhokhar hidden in his boat. He was wounded and bleeding. He is now hospitalized; in serious, but stable condition.

After the death of suspect 1 and the capture of the other, people cheered, applauded, thanked the police, and set off fireworks. Some even wrapped themselves in American flags. Following was a moment of silence to commemorate the victims of this horrible tragedy. So many people were affected, wether physically or emotionally. This event will never be forgotten, nor the people who were affected.

Answer
Actually, this is terrible.

It would take me over an hour to explain why and give you suggestions on what to change but here's a start:

- April 15th: Leave the "th" off. It is unnecessary.
- "...killed three people and wounded dozens, 134 to be exact." No. Just...no. You can simply write "...killed three people and wounded 134."
- "It was completely unprecedented." You need to look up the definition of "unprecedented."
- "Although, "they still saw a lot" he said." This does not need to be directly quoted. You can get away with saying he witnessed a lot or saw a lot.
- "He is now hospitalized; in serious, but stable condition." Remove the semicolon.
- "One down, one to go." This is unnecessary and could possibly indicate bias. You need to remain objective in a news article.
- "But with suspect number 1 still on the loose..." First of all, "suspect number 1" is wrong. The older brother was the first suspect. Secondly, you need to write out the numbers. Say "the first suspect" or "the second suspect" but don't refer to them as "number 1" or "number 2." They are people, not numbers.

Start with these and work on it from there.
