Do you think the news that is contained in newspapers, TV, or popular news journals is reliable? Why or why not? If not, what is the alternative?

The mainstream media has become less reliable in the last few years, mainly because they tend to sensationalize reporting to get the attention of younger viewers.
If you check how one significant event can be reported in so many ways by different news agencies you will realize how the media "bend" the reporting of events.
There is almost no alternative. Just choose a source that "looks" right for yourself and maybe check out other sources now and then for balance.
