I asked a similar question accidentaly on yahoo uk so i'm asking it here.
Someone on here isn't doing America any favours, just ignorant really.
Answer
My experience is that the average American who thinks about Britain has a favorable opinion. In the first place, we seem to love most of the British accents and tend to think that Brits who speak like Tony Blair and Queen Elizabeth are very smart!
Then there's the extreme popularity of British exports like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, other bands like them, Elton John, Jude Law, Ben Kingsley, Kate Winslet, Emma Thompson, Kenneth Branagh, Richard Attenborough, Princes William and Harry, Sarah Ferguson, Tracey Ullman, and the late Princess Diana, Alfred Hitchcock, and Richard Burton. And so many more.
Since many Americans support the war in Iraq, they have to be grateful to Britain for supporting American efforts there. Speaking for myself, those of us not in favor of the war still appreciate Britain's support.
The bad news is that the average American may know little and care less about Britain. The good news is that, in their ignorance, they have no hard feelings about the revolution!

I thought I'd seen the best ever when they unveiled the recent one of Prince William and Kate. That was stunning and so lifelike but so is this one of the Queen. What do you think?
Answer
Yes it's really very good isn't it. I was amazed at the attention to detail of most of the models not only their faces but their clothes as well.
The worst waxworks I've ever seen are usually those based in seaside towns. In fact they're so bad it was a job to even guess who the characters were.
