popular news websites 2012 image

Well as you know, the 2012 election is coming up. Do any of you know a unbiased website that I can look up the issues going on today and what the candidates stand for? So I can make a educated vote? Also, I was wondering, what would happen if we had a independent president instead of a democrat or republican president? Would things be "better"
Answer
I suggest you vote for Obama. I will give you a reason to do so.
In 1983 Mitt Romney was a bishop in the Mormon Church and he told a mother, Theresa Hayes who is now a former Mormon under his charge she was to, in her words:
"Give up your baby or give up your God. This is not like you don't get to take communion. This is like you will not be saved. You will never see the face of God"
Were this to be posted in the news media his chances of being elected will be diminished and people will take offense to this statement he made. He will never admit to making this statement and will just say I don't recall making that statement. Just Google Theresa Hayes and you will learn this is true. I suggest telling all your friends about this, as this may make a difference in their vote and they won't vote for someone who is a Mormon and tells a woman to get an abortion and not be saved and never see the face of God. The more people who ask questions before making a decision as to who to vote for as President, the better informed the voter is and hopefully the person who is the most qualified to be President will be the one who is elected. We have to remember it isn't necessarily the popular vote that will elect the President, it's the votes of the Electoral College, which in most cases will follow the vote of the people, but they are not obligated to do so by law, for they have the power to overturn the vote of the people if they feel it's in the best interest to do so. This law was written so someone who may be popular with the people who isn't Presidential material with intelligence isn't elected. Perhaps the Electoral College may feel this to be the case with Romney. We can only hope they do. Please ask your friends to vote because there appears to be a lack of interest to vote and this isn't a good sign if we want the right person to be elected as President.

Is Ribbon of St George going to be distributed around May 9 in Russia, Ukraine and other Post Soviet Republics?
K2010
this year
Will it be on "Odnoklassniki. ru"?
What are your plans for this Victory day?
will Western Ukrainians bully veterans and supporters of this movement again?
Answer
THE RIBBON OF ST GEORGE
The St. George ribbon was used as part of military awards in the Russian Empire and in the now defunct Soviet Union, and now it is part of military awards of the Russian Federation. For the first time, it appeared on the military uniforms simultaneously with the Order of St. George, the Great Martyr and Victor, in 1769. Orange-black colours have been regarded in Russia as a sign of military valour and glory since then. During the Second World War they re-appeared in the ribbon of the Order of Glory, and later they became part of the medal âFor Victoryâ. And the St. George Order was finally restored in new Russia.
RESTORED IN NEW RUSSIA
In 2005, ahead of the celebrations on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Great Victory, the Russian public organization âStudent Communityâ, with the support of the RIA Novosti news agency, decided to attract the attention of public at large to the history of the Great Patriotic War. Volunteers started giving out symbolic orange-black ribbons to people in the streets. There was an address of a website on those ribbons, which enabled anyone to study the archival documents. Unexpectedly for the organizers this drive attracted millions of people and became very popular not only in Russia but also all over the world. Of interest here is the fact that at first it was very difficult for people abroad to get a St. George ribbon, Head of the public organization âStudent Communityâ Vassily Ovchinnikov says. Four years ago the association of the Russian-speaking youths in the USA held it too.
ST GEORGE RIBBON.. ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS ARE UKRAINE<
Among the most active participants of the âSt. George Ribbonâ drive are Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Germany, Britain, the USA, Canada, Argentina, China, and Mexico. âThe âSt.George Ribbonâ campaign has become a good tradition, Head of Special Projects Department at RIA Novosti Yekaterina Korolyova says
The St. George Ribbon is a symbol of the international public movement today. The âStudent Communityâ volunteers plan to give out nearly 3 million ribbons this year, its Head Vassily Ovchinnikov says.
"It is for the first time that the Foreign Ministry will be our partner this year. The Foreign Ministry officials have already sent St. George Ribbons to 92 countries. A programme will be launched on our site (www.cco.ru) this year, where visitors will be informed where they can get the ribbon abroad."
