I've just joined Twitter a little while a go just to try it out, so can you tell how it works?

When you log into Twitter it will show a large box that says "What are you doing right now?" you type in what your doing or thinking or anything you want to be heard,then you click the update button under the box you typed in, people will read your updates,you can read others too, on the top of the page where it says find people you can type in a name of someone you want to follow, folowing someone just means you will see their updates on your page and youll be following their tweets,tweets are what they call what you type about what you are doing. Also if you click on @yourusername on the right side it will show messages that people specifically directed @ you, if you want to speak directly to someone for example Miley Cyrus you would type in your update box like this: @MileyCyrus hey Miley your the bomb.... then click update and that msg will go to her,but the rest of the world can see it too,.anyway i still like myspace better but i guess twitter is sorta cool,hope i gave you detailed enough instructions so you can get to tweetin' Oh my twitter is KattsKommentary I do tweets about celebrity gossip, so you can follow me if you want!

Why do people make up the most absurd lies about celebrities?

I was reading about this one dude on the website called The Dirty that was just bashing him left and right saying that he picks girls up on twitter. It was ridiculous, and there was absolutely no proof. I don't understand why people do that.

C) because idiots will believe anything
D) real, up close gossip is dangerous, so people pick on distant targets.
