latest news north korea image
Q. After a nuclear bomb detonation and three missile launches, what is the best course of action to take against the Communist North? Should they be harshly punished? Would kicking them out of the U.N. be a good idea?
Answer
I think the U.S. should take the lead in this, and take out N. Korea's nuclear capabilities now, especially in light of this latest news:
SEOUL (Reuters) â North Korea, facing international sanction for this week's nuclear test, threatened on Wednesday to attack the South after Seoul joined a U.S.-led initiative to check vessels suspected of carrying equipment for weapons of mass destruction.
"Any hostile act against our peaceful vessels including search and seizure will be considered an unpardonable infringement on our sovereignty and we will immediately respond with a powerful military strike," the spokesman for the North's army was quoted as saying by the official KCNA news agency.
I don't know if N. Korea is bluffing or not, but this is a pretty direct threat against S. Korea, and it needs to be taken very seriously by the international community.

Answer
Back in the 1950s, communist North Korea invaded democratic South Korea.
The United Nations sent troops and liberated South Korea.
But that war didn't end with a peace treaty, it halted with UN ceasefire agreement.
What this means is that North Korea's technically still at war with the United Nations.
And North Korea's paranoid the UN will come back and finish the war some day.
They've got no desire to finish losing the war, so North Korea makes crazy threats all the time.
North Korea's been doing that for 60 years to scare everyone into leaving them alone.
Now that North Korea's developed nuclear weapons and is testing them to make sure they work, they're using that to make sure nobody kicks their butt again.
The US doesn't really pay much attention to the world.
So when news of these latest nuclear tests started, people started freaking out worrying that North Korea's planning to nuke America.
North Korea isn't: The US would nuke them right back. That's not what North Korea wants.
Or the UN would go in there and defeat them once and for all and install a new government.
And that's not what North Korea wants either.
All in all, North Korea's like a bully that got beat up by a group of older, bigger kids.
And just like people do in real life, North Korea's armed itself so it won't happen again.
