Give me the names of some celebrity gossip magazines in Germany?

CatchMeint

Also, do American actors/actresses appear in the headlines from time to time or are they strictly centered on the lives of celebrities in Germany? If it happens to be the latter, can anyone give me the names of a few?

Answer
The world has become so globalized that most European gossip magazines center around American celebrities. In Germany there're magazines intended for teenagers that mostly feature American celebrities like Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, etc. Of course they'll include some German celebrities, but mostly it's ridiculous to even call them celebrities as they're just briefly hyped-up no-names who as suddenly as they become famous disappear again (e.g. casting show stars) Then there're ones intended for older readers (like "Bunte") which also include some German "stars". But really, mostly all the gossip is about US celebrities as I think they live much more outrageous and therefore "interesting" lives than any other wannabe red-carpet celebs here.

Are American teenagers becoming dumber?

Joey G.

I myself belong to the demographic mentioned above an I am very worried about this nations future. It seems as if all of us are just becoming dumber. Lots of people I know take interest in things that won't matter in a matter of weeks while blowing off all of the important issues and seem to have lost the ability to speak or type in proper sentences. When I call them out on this, they say I am the stupid one for caring more about the elections than about the latest celebrity gossip.

In addition, it seems as if people are losing their sense of independence and becoming sellouts. Instead of just being an individual, most teens I know are identifying themselves with labels. These include "scene," "emo," "preppy," and "punk." The music we listen to is garbage and changes based on what a few popular kids like at the time, and don't get me started on the movies we watch. It seems as if there is a "cool" crowd and an "uncool" crowd, and once somebody is accepted into the former they become another person entirely and no longer care for their friends in the latter category.

If this continues, do you think the world will one day be run by a bunch of incompetent and apathetic people who have no personal drive or sense of ability?

Answer
Yes, I do agree. Although I am a teenager myself, I do not think I am dumb. But at my school, yes, there are some kids out there who think they're 'too cool for school.' I make straight A's and my hope and dreams are to become a corperate lawyer. I am very independent and only worry about my business. No one elses. I don't know how many kids at my school get suspended and expelled. Alothough, all these cliques you seem to name (preppy, emo, punk, etc.) have been around since the 1950s. Kids don't get the attention they get from their parents, because they're too worried about the economy, bills, laws, etc. so the child thinks he/she needs to do something to get attention that is not appropriate. They'll usually end up becoming a trouble maker, a gang member, etc. and that's why kids want respect these days. The trouble makers as I'll call them, think that life is just a silly game and that they can do whatever they want when they get older. Som of them, don't care about education, maturing, or even themselves. They just want to feel accepted into a society, although they do it the wrong way. It's kind of sad these days. But I'm not going to let that happen to me. I'm going to finish school, go to college, have good role models and influences, and live a happy and successful life. I've never gotten anything below a B on my report card in my LIFE ! So please don't think all teens are getting dumber everyday. There are some good ones out there, and there are some bad ones.

Hope I helped ! (:
