Just a thought
PS. Don't tell me where to post my question and no trolling
ok I know this is going to sound weird but how about a space shuttle all packed with goods and everything you need including your family. In case something catastrophic happens, we stay on space until an atom bomb is detonated then we can all safely land.
so what do you all expect me to do to survive?
Answer
I doubt very much that sewers would be the best place.
I can also tell you NOT to worry about nuclear war. I didn't notice if you posted question here in U.S., but whatever country you live in, understand that nuclear war is the catastrophe we should less fear. Up till now our "leaders" have acted much more wiser than we could have expected of humans and all situations--including the Cuban missile crisis in very early 1960's--have been handled appropriately.
If we do need to worry or concern ourselves with something, it should probably be the viruses--such as the Chinese bird flu and worse yet the SARS-like virus in Middle-East. Any of those two viruses could trigger a pandemic. Can we do something about it? Of course. The governments can certainly do something: On China's part, they are killing as many chickens as necessary and if NOT quarantining people, at least they are tending to the sick pretty fast and trying very hard to keep control of situation.
Up till now in China the virus has been found among the poor who constantly work with chickens and it's not been known yet to be transmissible already between humans. As for the SARS-like one in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Jordan, scientists have NOT the slightest idea how or where it's coming from. Now, think of this: Can poor, Chinese chicken vendors travel abroad?
Now, do you know that the first cases of the Middle-East virus have been found in extremely wealthy men of those countries I just mentioned? Do you know that in some cases the person has been found to be ill as they "traveled" to European countries? Do you know that already patients in France hospitals have gotten the virus and died? Also, the last I heard there was at least one case in Italy.
If we wish to extend our lives longer on this "modern" earth, we must take all possible precautions on our own and NOT rely on government to help us in any way. I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but in these cases what the government does is quarantine those they know are already sick, but by the time that happens it's already too late for many.
To make matters more "difficult" for Americans for example, I read two weeks ago that Qatar's airline will be opening offices in more U.S. cities and will be flying directly to Philadelphia, among other cities.

When will the qatar-bahrain bridge be constructed?
almawe
I heard they should have started working on it last year and it should end in 2015 but i haven't heard anything else since, anyone has any info/idea?
Answer
the construction started in 2009
however, in late 2011, media of both countries announced that the construction of Bahrain-Qatar Friendship bridge will be delayed.
no news or further information were founded about how far the construction went, but local newspapers guessed that they're probably still in the first stages of the construction
since the beginning, "before delaying" the bridge was supposed to be done by 2014. but now, after the delay, no one wrote about when it'll be done.
one of the main reasons that the bridge got delayed, is the discussions that took place in a Gulf council of having railways between the Gulf countries
and of course there are other reasons that resulted in the delay, for example both countries being busy with other internal stuff and issues, like the uprising in Bahrain, and the other construction that took place in Qatar in terms of "sports" as it'll be hosting the 2022 world cup, say like stadiums and so on
however, there have been discussions inside Qatar, wanting to finish the bridge before 2022, so hosting the world cup, would benefit both countries. based on that, some newspapers in Bahrain wrote that they are reworking in the construction.
some people say, that Saudi Arabia filed cancellation of Bahrain/Qatar bridge, claiming that it passes through the water borders of Saudi Arabia. but its believed to be just a rumor, since its hard to believe that it'd ever cross the water borders of Saudi Arabia, it is far, geographically, and obviously lol
