why am i always being compared to celebrities and actors?

i swear to god no matter where i go i get comments from people saying i look like a male celebrity. iv heard so many it makes me laugh at each different one. iv heard leonardo dicaprio, chad michael murray, ashton kutcher, justin timerlake, chace crawford, and more. the thing is these guys dont even look alike and i dont really look like any of them. my ex girlfriends friends were obsessed with this show called gossip girl and they were obsessed with me and swooned over me because i look like this chuck bass character (ed westwick in real life, i looked him up and its scary how much i really do look like him). i always take these as compliments but i get so mad that people compare others to celebrities. why people in the US are so obsessed with pop culture ill never understand. i mean id much rather just have them say your good looking or handsome because i think everyone needs to be their own man. anyways does anyone else get really annoyed of being compared to a celebrity?

What are the possibilities of China become the next world superpower?

Lately in the news, we have heard about the crumbling of the once-great United States. Many theorists believe that soon China will replace the USA as the next superpower. I mean, they definitely have the man power, and they're technology is growing. Can we possibly see this happening in the near-future?

I live in China as a transplanted American.

I have learned two things.

#1 what most people in the west know of China would fit in a thimble, what most people think they know would fit in a barrel.

#2 China has no desire to be a huge military power. They know that to do that is economy busting and does little to protect themselves. Their 5,000 year history is full of imperialistic games and they have learned that it does not pay in the long run. China is upgrading its military because they need to and can now afford to without robbing the people, like they did in the past. They even have planes in their active air force that date back to pre WWII.

While they have a huge military, it is really huge on paper, since every person of military age must go through a basic type training. At both colleges I have taught at, that training is done on the campus. The students go through a 2 1/2 week course that pretty much amounts to learning how to march and take orders. There is no weapons training etc. About 1% of those students later decide to take up a military career. What many in the west do not know, even though it was reported, that China made a pledge they would reduce their military by one million active duty personal two years ago and met that obligation.

Where China will excel is in the market place and monetary system. Their population believes in saving as opposed to instant gratification of spend and be in perpetual debt, like we in the west live under. Plus they have a labor pool of 800 million people that has problems of under and unemployment, thus will keep wages low for decades to come. Which of course will keep the cost of manufacturing and living down.

China's government is very stable as well as their society. While they do have problem area's, nevertheless, the best way of measuring a country is not by what partisans and our news media says, but the amount of foreign investment and manufacturing flowing in. China is a very safe bet for western companies and has been that way for the last 20 years. While China has controlling interest in those companies, nevertheless, even with that, investment remains very high.

Finally, Warren Buffet said 5 years ago that China's economy would surpass the USA in 50 years. 2 years ago he revised that to 25 years. I think, with today's economy and the fact that China's economy is very resilient (despite what some in the west say) and has vast untapped domestic and foreign markets and massive rebuilding after the earthquakes, this country's economy is very strong, even while the west is in recession, this one is growing by over 7%, that China will surpass the USA's economy in 15 years.

What could have caused the lake in Chile to disappear?

As a lover of geology, this news caught my attention tonight! That lake was the size of ten football fields and the scientists cannot explain this!

Now, as this news cast continued, they said that Lake Superior is doing the same thing!

I can more understand the lake in Chile as they have continuous earth quakes and such from the subduction zone. However, I am not understanding Lake Superior at all!

Can anyone enlighten me? Please, only intellectual answers please!

What could be the mystery that no poultry contact in some China "bird flu" cases?

GENEVA/BEIJING (Reuters) - The World Health Organization said on Wednesday that a number of people who have tested positive for a new strain of bird flu in China have had no history of contact with poultry, adding to the mystery about the virus that has killed 16 people to date.

Chinese authorities have slaughtered thousands of birds and closed some live poultry markets to try and stem the rate of human infection, but many questions remain unsolved including whether the H7N9 strain is being transmitted between people.

WHO spokesman Gregory Hartl confirmed that "there are people who have no history of contact with poultry", after a top Chinese scientist was quoted as saying about 40 percent of those with the H7N9 flu had had no poultry contact.

"This is one of the puzzles still (to) be solved and therefore argues for a wide investigation net," Hartl said in emailed comments, though he did not know the exact percentage.

Several avenues should be explored by an international team of experts going to China soon, including the possibility that the virus can be spread between people, although there is "no evidence of sustained human-to-human transmission", Hartl said.

"It might be because of dust at the wet markets, it could be another animal source beside poultry, it could also be human-to-human transmission," he added by telephone.

Wendy Barclay, a flu expert at Imperial College London, said it was likely to be very difficult to determine and rule out people's exact exposure to poultry - and to wild birds, which could also be a possible source of infection.

"The incubation time might be quite long so visiting a market even 14 days before might have resulted in infection," she said.

Previously the WHO reported two suspected family "clusters", but later said the virus was found not to have infected anyone in the first. Tests in the second were inconclusive and experts say the poor quality samples may make it impossible to know.

China has warned that the number of infections could rise from the current 77. The latest victims are from the commercial capital of Shanghai, where the majority of the cases have been found, the official Xinhua news agency said on Tuesday.

"A MYSTERY"

China reported three new bird flu outbreaks to the World Animal Health Organisation (OIE) this week, bringing the total number of places to 11, the OIE said on its website.

Samples have tested positive in some poultry markets that remain the focus of investigation by China and the U.N.'s Food and Agriculture Organization.

Zeng Guang, the chief scientist in charge of epidemiology at the China Disease Prevention and Control Centre (CDPCC), said about 40 percent of human victims had no clear history of poultry exposure, the Beijing News reported on Wednesday.

According to a Reuters analysis of the infections, based on state media reports, only 10 of the 77 cases as of Tuesday have had contact with poultry. The CDPCC declined to comment when asked by Reuters.

A study published last week showed the H7N9 strain was a so-called "triple reassortant" virus with a mixture of genes from three other flu strains found in birds in Asia. One of those three strains is thought to have come from a brambling, a type of small wild bird.

"We can't rule out that this ... has passed through poultry but then been reintroduced to a wild bird population from which some spread to humans might be occurring," Barclay said.

China's poultry sector has recorded losses of more than 10 billion yuan since reports emerged of the strain two weeks ago, while authorities have slaughtered thousands of birds and closed live poultry markets in Shanghai and Beijing.

China said on Sunday the virus had spread outside the Yangtze River delta region in eastern China, with cases reported in Beijing and the central province of Henan.

Many cases are being attributed to "contact with chickens"; thus providing a ready and familiar scapegoat. However, it might be informative to ask if these cases might have in any way also been in contact with wild bird species.

Since China announced over a week ago that H7N9 avian influenza had been found in humans for the first time, the number of people infected has risen to 24, almost half in the eastern city of Shanghai.

Chinese authorities say they do not know how the virus is spreading, though it is believed the infection is passing from birds to humans.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has said there is no evidence H7N9 is passing from person to person -- a development that has the potential to trigger a pandemic.

Authorities have advised the public to avoid live birds but offered reassurances that poultry and eggs that are still on sale are safe to eat if cooked properly.

However, state media said that poultry sales have plunged in some areas of China, even regions that have so far recorded no human infections.

"It's really a devastating blow to the market for broilers," said Qiu Baoqin, vice secretary general of China's National Poultry Industry Association. Broilers are young chickens sold ready for cooking.

"The impact is extremely big," she said.

In the northern city of Shijiazhuang, daily chicken sales have tumbled more than 50 percent from a week earlier at the city's largest agricultural market, the state-backed China News Service reported.

Shanghai has culled more than 111,000 birds, banned trading in live poultry and shut markets in a bid to curb the outbreak.

Nanjing and Suzhou cities followed suit by banning live poultry trading, while Hangzhou culled poultry after discovering infected quail.

Domestic airlines, including budget carrier Spring and Xiamen Airlines, have yanked chicken from the menu after complaints from passengers, the Shanghai Daily newspaper said.

China has been hit by a series of food scandals in recent years, some caused by producers deliberately using sub-standard or illegal ingredients, making the public wary over what they consume.

The country was rocked by one of its biggest-ever food safety scandals in 2008, when the industrial chemical melamine was found to have been illegally added to dairy products, killing at least six and making 300,000 ill.

A decade ago, China also faced accusations it covered up the outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), which killed about 800 people globally.

"The authorities seem to have learned the necessary lessons from the SARS outbreak," the China Daily newspaper said in an editorial on Tuesday.

As China battled the new strain, neighbouring Vietnam on Tuesday reported its first death in more than a year from the better known H5N1 bird flu strain. The latest victim was a four-year-old child from a farming family.

Last week Hanoi banned all Chinese poultry imports and stepped up border controls, including passenger temperature checks, in response to the new H7N9 strain in China.

Analysts said the bird flu outbreak could hurt China's overall economy -- the world's second-largest -- though the effect was expected to be temporary.

Some body builders drink protein shakes IN ADDITION TO their normal BODYBUILDER'S diet to help with muscle gains. I assume you're not a body builder, so don't worry about them.

Unless you're good friends with courtney love and she told you honestly that she had a nutritious, healthy and non-dangerous diet but also drank stuff made for body builders but also lost 50lbs at the same time, then I wouldn't believe what newspapers and magazines gossip about celebrities.

And if she did tell you that, slap her and tell her to lay off the drugs.

Your body needs a certain amount of fuel (food) each day to stay alive and do any exercise/activities that you're involved in. If you eat slightly less than this amount then your body will burn fat to make up the difference. If you eat way less than this amount, you'll go into starvation mode and won't lose anything.

Figure out how many calories you need to eat each day to lose weight, how many extra calories you burn through exercise, and how many calories are in the foods you eat. You can do all of that here:

I never have and I never will believe a word that girl says. I think that she knows Justin Bieber is so nice and gives back a lot she thinks her saying this will get him to pay for her child support even if he isn't the father. Maybe a few, but it is very uncommon. It is probably due to his music and movies all mainly being in the language Hindi. I am planning to build a site for myself. I know joomla's basic features as a CMS but i wonder if using it, is possible to later add features like those on facebook where you can chat, or install "apps" such as games, weather report, stock report, etc.

In other words, i'm starting my site as a simple news site. But if it becomes more popular i want the option for people to install game apps that people can play in my site like facebook. Later, even maybe chat with others also like in facebook.

Joomla is not exactly what I would call a basic CMS you can add loads of features to your Joomla website using Joomla "extensions" (including chat) the best thing you could do is to have a look at:

and search through their extensions to find what you want.

Also WordPress (also a CMS) also has a massive range of add on features called "Plugins" visit:

The subject is supposed to be pop culture, somehow relating popular cultural trends to the values of U.S. society at large (eg, Rihanna and Chris Brown or whoever getting into domestic abuse disputes being indicative of kids growing up too fast or of violence becoming more or less acceptable). He also said we could write about anything we wanted as long as we had an argument, but I think he'd prefer that we met his guidelines.

So what should I write about?

Myspace was the most famous website of all time then came facebook and youtube and it's popularity started to decline. Why? Who was responsible for not making innovations so that myspace could compete with facebook? NAMES PLEASE!

When the two main co-founders stepped down in mid April of 2009, Tom Anderson as the President and Chris DeWolf as the CEO, there were three changes of presidents, and CEO's, who made changes to MySpace, that most users disagreed with. The last President under the full ownership of News Corp, re-branded the site two times, with the last being MySpace, as a social entertainment destination. They also kept adding features that most users didn't want, and removing features that were highly popular such as the groups, and them replacing them with something titled Threads, which Mike Jones the last President under the full ownership was told by the moderators would not be acceptable to users.

I suspect that both Tom, and Chris advised, against such a move, but News Corp decided under the guidance of those who followed the departure of Tom and Chris, to go forward with the changes that were made, and then decided anyone over the age of twenty five years old weren't significant in numbers, and cater more towards the thirteen to twenty five years of age users whom, they by some manner determined to be those of the most significant relevance to the site, and it's future. That the loss of the older users wasn't going to be of any significance to the future of the site. Mike Jones also didn't allow the users enough time to adapt to the 2.0 profiles before rolling the 3.0 version in 2010. Which caused even more users to either delete their accounts, or abandon them. Basically Mike approved of the changes made in the last eighteen months he was the President of MySpace. So blame the brass at News Corp (not so much Rupert Murdoch though), and those that were appointed to run MySpace, after the departure of Tom and Chris, for the downfall of MySpace.

The only name I really have to give out, and where the bulk of the blame can be placed is Mike Jones, who departed about three months after News Corp sold ninety five percent ownership to Specific Media, and Justin Timberlake, in June of 2011. News Corp, though still seems to have a significant input into what is done and where MySpace goes in the future based on what has transpired since September of 2011, when the forums were removed, and it was decided that the groups wouldn't be returned as had been announced at one time by the new owners.

Even after the Triple Crown Secretariat continued to prove himself as one of the top Thoroughbreds of all time. And, at age three, Secretariat was again named Horse of the Year, and won Eclipse Awards as the American Champion Three-Year-Old Male Horse and the American Champion Male Turf Horse.

Secretariat was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 1974, the year following his Triple Crown. In 2005, he appeared in ESPN Classic's show "Who's No. 1?". In the list of "Greatest Sports Performances" (by individual athletes), the horse was the only nonhuman on the list, with his run at Belmont ranking second behind Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point game. On May 2, 2007, Secretariat was inducted into the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame, marking the first time an animal received this honor. Secretariat, a Disney live-action film written by Mike Rich and directed by Randall Wallace, was released on October 8, 2010. A new award created in 2011 titled "Secretariat Vox Populi" (voice of the people) was presented by Penny Chenery to the first honoree, the 2010 Horse of the Year, Zenyatta. This annual award will acknowledge the horse that brings the most excitement and attraction to the sport.

In stud, Secretariat sired such future champions as 1988 Preakness and Belmont winner Risen Star and 1986 Horse of the Year Lady's Secret. But none of his offspring came close to matching the standard he set. He remained a popular figure even after Secretariat Mania subsided. But his life ended tragically. Suffering from laminitis -- a painful hoof disease -- the 19-year-old superstar was given a lethal injection on Oct. 4, 1989, at Claiborne Farm in Paris, Ky.

"And, To this day, Secretariat remains one of the first names everyone thinks of whenever the topic of horse racing comes up.
