Okay, so for school I've decided to write an editorial/commentary on celebrity culture, obsession, etc.
Now tell me...
Can you name 10 celebrities and 10 doctors (or scientists)?
RULES:
CURRENT celebrities, doctors/scientists, not like died-quite-a-longish-time-ago Einstein, Galileo, or Newton!
DON'T SEARCH ON GOOGLE (OR BING, ETC.) Using just your current knowledge!

I can not name 1 scientist who is famous today. And I try to keep up on the News. I also don't follow celebrity gossip but could name 10 movie actors easily.

i am fed up with buying newspapers and hearing about celebrity gossip, it does?

You're not the only one. I don't like gossip to begin with, and to have to read all that negative publicity is just another reason for me not to buy the paper. The only reason I do get the paper is for the crossword puzzles. I love to sit and do all the puzzles while having my morning cup of coffee. My husband knows that he had better not talk to me until I finish them. Back to the celebrity gossip......I do not buy any tabloids because of it, and I never read the trash in the paper. I have taken another step though. I write to the papers about the publicity that they give to those celebrities who love to see their names in print. I think the youth of today needs to read some positive news of descent people setting a good example for them.

I am doing research for an article on celebrity gossip and I would like the people's opinion on it. What do you think about celebrity gossip? (Ex. It is interesting; it is over the top). Do you pay attention to the gosssip, if so, why? Please feel free to give your opinion on the hollywood celebrity gossip. (Although its not required, I would appreciate it if you gave your gender and age with your answer!)

I think I a little bit of it is fine and normal. It's always been around. In ancient Rome, people would gossip about the gladiators, and gossip about royalty. "Omg, Agrapina is SUCH a ho! I can't believe she slept with the whole Preatorian guard!" Seriously, she was a hoe. Anyways, I think that TODAY, here in the 21st century it has been taken to the extreme.

It has been taken to SUCH an extreme that it will no doubt spell the downfall of civilization. Kim Kardashian and celebrity gossip will be the ruin of us all.

An example about how priorities are mixed up, and how ridiculous people are put on a pedestal while people that have actually CONTRIBUTED something to society go about in obscurity... There's this total LOSER that lived like a hundred years ago or something that saved most of the lives of the people that have posted here. His name was Fleming and he invented modern anti-biotics. How many people do you think even care?? Not many.
