Hello I am currently working on a video blog where i post popular and news videos on a wordpress blog. My wordpress blog also has a plugin called wptouch which allows the blog to be viewed on mobile phones. My question is : Is there a way to get quicktime version of youtube videos and embed them to show in the wptouch theme? thanks!

There is a cool app specially for editing and publishing videos to your website or blog.
I googled the official source of the cool app: http://www.web-video-player.com
Useful tutorial on google blog:

Anyway, you can also try to google the solution to your question.

Why do so many NEWS websites today have really bad performance?

So many popular news websites and blogs today have far too many features added into them to make them more dynamic but at the expense of accessibility. It's like they want to cram as much stuff into their website as possible and it's really starting to annoy me. It seems to be a trend with NEWS/MAGAZINE websites where they over populate every page with galleries, videos, pop-ups, pop-unders, sliders etc etc etc etc
A great example is the huffingtonpost website.
I have 120gig broadband with 8gig of ram on my laptop and even I struggle to load some of these over-populated webpages. I use the latest version of every browser but I still get the annoying 'Not Responding' notice when visiting these News/Magazine websites.
Have you noticed this annoying trend too?
I don't understand why they would do this? Any ideas?

Sorry, I meant to say 120MB broadband. (Virgin Media's top package)
Answer
Yes, I find it very annoying. You may see some speedups if you install the Adblock Plus addon for Firefox.
I think its just the sites trying to monetize the traffic. They threw on a popup and realized it wasn't working so the solution was adding a bunch more popups and other bobbles.
