Answer
Hmm, there's not much to summarize, it's just lots of words with not really much of content. It's just about the most popular names, that the statistics of 2007 are not done yet and the the most popular names are not THAT often as people think, the most popular about 1 percent each. Besides that they mention that there still is a difference between the former two parts of Germany and that certain things like they hype of Berlin's icebear Knut or the name of pop singer Sarah Connor's child influenced this year's names a little bit.

What news websites our popular around the world (Spain, Russia, France, UK, Germany, Italy, China...)?

John

I am doing a project, to see how people around the world react to news, and what their views are on current events (so I'm not necessarily looking for foreign news stories as much as I would be reading the comments on them).

That being said, I am just wondering what the top news websites are in Spain, Russia, France, England, Germany, Italy, China etc... I would if they were in the language of their parent country (Example:German news to be in German) so I know that I am getting comments from actual Germans and NOT Americans that just read foreign news articles(of course there could be an exception to Americans who are bilingual).

I know (www.bbc.co.uk) is popular in the United Kingdom, and I am not positive but I think (www.france 24.fr) is popular in France.

Answer
Spiegel.de or tagesschau.de or taz.de are popular in Germany. It kind of depends on where you're from as we have a lot of regional newspapers with their own websites...

How did "Reuters" get so popular and worldly?

Boycott Ho

I always hear "according to Reuters". Why?

Answer
Reuters was the first international news and stock exchange news service in the world, started by Baron Von Reuter in the late 1890's. Baron Von Reuter was a German who migrated to Britain and founded the Reuters News agency, first with 'carrier pigeons' transporting stock news and then general news stories. He constantly expanded upon the business until Reuters became the largest News and Stock Exchange /Financial News service in the world.

Reuters started a photographic service in 1982 and they took over VISNEWS, an international TV news syndication service, in the 1990's.

For teens/young adults?

Like in France they have the SkyRock blog, what is Germany's most popular blog?

Answer
Isn´t this SkyRock thing a community somehow comparable to Myspace and the likes where you create profiles.....? So not a "blog" in the original sense...?

Anyway, Myspace and "StudiVZ" (for students) and "SchülerVZ" (for pupils" are communities like SkyRock that are widely spread among German teens and young adults, with StudiVZ being the largest.

In terms of "blogs" in the original sense, there are no blogs that teenagers and young adults all over Germany read a lot. With adults, "www.bildblog.de" is among the most widely read blogs, the most popular German internet page is "www.spiegel.de" (website of a news mag).

Hope this is what you were asking for... :)

What were popular places to travel in World War 2 in Poland?

Taylor

Doesn't have to be as popular as Las Vegas or Hollywood, just a place in Poland where people traveled a lot and also places where people couldn't travel. It's for a project on The Invasion of Poland where we're creating a news paper on current events and other things like entertainment and, for me, travel.

Answer
Well, the German officers who occupied Poland like to travel to the Baltic coast during the summer as the weather was nice and the scenery was beautiful. It was popular with Germans both before and during the war.
