A guy lights water on fire?

Q. Ok so in late March of this year some guy in Erie PA used radio waves to light water on fire and everyone went crazy b/c they believe that water could be used as a fuel source now, but is this news really that big? Anyone who studies chemistry extensively already knows that water can be lit on fire and we have know for a very long time, this being so is his accomplishment really that special? Also some argue that while water can be made combustible the cost to actually put radio waves into a car as to use water for fuel would be so high that we would probably be paying around the same amount of money as we already pay for gas. As such does this kind of deflate our expectations from this event? What are you thoughts on this issue?

Answer
The only way water can be lit on fire is to break it down to hydrogen and oxygen and burn that and doing that requires more power than will be gotten out.

Is this to good to be true?

I am looking into buying a new German Shepherd Puppy. I have a mix right now and I love her.... But shes nine years old and is getting lazy. I want another puppy that likes to play.

So I start looking in the news paper and right off the bat, German Shepherds $250.
I'm thinking excellent right in my price range until I noticed all the other breeders wanted 400 on up. I still called the lady asked about papers and if the parents were on sight and if the shots were up to date. She informed me that the mother was but not the father and that the shots are but they havn't been wormed because her vet was out of town. This concerns me that I'm not getting a full blood. I really want the larger pure bred. And people on the phone just didn't seem to be real professional. They had there tv blaring in the phone and just didn't sound so great. It was sorta late so maybe i called at a wrong time.

How would anyone else feel. I mean if she took the mother to have it bred wouldn't one think there had to be some type of documentation on it?

If I were to go look at the dog is there signs i can look at to be sure its 100% German Shepherd?

Btw if anyone has any information on a reliable breeder close to ERIE PA that would be great.

Answer
Actually, it's not good at all. If you want a purebred dog, you have to buy one that comes with registration papers from the AKC. Also, the Sire and Dam have had NO genetic health testing so therefore you could easily end up with a dog with Hip Dysplasia. Good breeders also don't advertise in the newspaper, and quality PET quality puppy from a reputable breeder would cost you at LEAST 5 times the $250.00 you mentioned. Of course they didn't sound professional, because they aren't. They are BACK YARD BREEDERS trying to suck money off of whoever will hand it over to them for their poorly bred junk. Go to the Website of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America and look at their breeder referral list. You won't find a puppy in your price range, but if you save up for a well bred dog, you won't be spending thousands and thousands of dollars on Vet bills in the years to come. You get what you pay for, so buyer beware.

Former Athlete at Mercyhurst College Charged With Killing Her Newborn Baby
A former womenâs volleyball player at Mercyhurst College was charged on Tuesday with homicide for allegedly suffocating her baby minutes after giving birth last month. The student, Teri Rhodes, never told anyone she was pregnant, but had searched the Internet for âherbal abortion techniquesâ and âwhat can kill a fetus,â the Times-News, a newspaper in Erie, Pa., reported.

The 18-year-old sophomore underwent a physical examination on August 10, and the doctor asked if she was pregnant, according to the newspaper. Ms. Rhodes said she didnât think so. The doctor cleared her to play volleyball, and she practiced with the team that day.

Two days later, she gave birth to a baby girl in the bathroom of her campus apartment. She placed the infant in a plastic bag in the bathtub, news reports said. Her roommate, worried about noises coming from the bathroom,
Ms. Rhodes was arraigned on multiple charges on Tuesday and could face life in prison if she is convicted.

Concern that some pregnant college athletes may feel pressure to have abortions prompted the NCAA to review its guidelines on pregnancy this year, and new guidance is in the works. Many colleges do not have policies to protect pregnant athletes, who may worry, among other things, that they could lose their scholarships.

Officials at Mercyhurst, a small Roman Catholic college in northwestern Pennsylvania, declined to comment on the case. The athletic director did not respond to calls today. In a written statement, the college said: âNever can we avert every tragedy. They are a part of life.â âSara Lipka

Answer
Very, very sad for the poor baby.
A tragedy.
Unwanted babies unfortunately are a fact of life, not that I'm condoning the mothers actions. But babies can be surrended at hospitals, can't they? Surely that would've been better than death for the poor child.

How did you/ your spouse propose? Did you think it was romantic?

10 points to the most romantic, or original/unique proposal! =)

My boyfriend of 4 years just proposed! So I'm in quite the romantic mood!! I'll post how my (now) fiance did it when I choose best answer!

Answer
My fiance & I planned trip to wine country (Erie PA). I was so mad at him he didn't pack a single thing. (so I packed him at 4am) He was in the shower for ever. He forgot the directions so we had to turn around. He wanted to stop at this state park on the way up. FINE.... I wasn't thilled since we would be driving for 3 hours & were already late! Then we got lost. I wanted to skip the state park. We stopped we were over looking a gorge where you could see for about 8 miles. We got there at 6:40am right around sunrise. I was taken photos, he asked if he could take the camera for new batteries & if I wanted my drink. I said no...(I was so mad at this point) So when he came back down the hill he said my name. When I turned around he was on 1 knee ring in hand, & asked "will you marry me" I started crying. I couldn't breath!!! I hugged & kissed him. It was perfect. He reminded me I never said YES...I told him I thought I was going to pass out I was so excited! All our photos from there my face is bright read from crying.
To make the story better. He had taken the camera set it up on a rock so when he got down on 1 knee it took a series of photos. He has the photo proposal & my freak out on film!
I spent the next few hours calling family & friends. Crying my eyes out. I think if I didn't call with such great news they would have killed me it was before 7:30am on a Saturday Morning!

CONGRATS to you also! I waited 6 years & 4 months for him to propose!
